It's shit.

No, really terrible.

It's freezing in winter, boiling in summer, drizzles and is gray for as long as it wants. It is rude, expensive, imperialistic, racist, has a particularly fucked up legal system and the youth of modern Britain are the most horrible group of human beings since the fucking Nazis.

You'll be stabbed, mugged and arrested long before you'll ever reach anywhere safe, and any major city is accompanied by vast industrial complexes and ugly, gray blocks of structures. You can't buy anything without a year of forms and waiting, and nothing gets done until Thursday when it'll cost £Galore.

You can't drink, smoke, gamble or own a sharp bit of plastic unless you're 112 years old and have all the right forms, and even then you couldn't smoke, drink, gamble or own a sharp bit of plastic anywhere but in a sterile environment in your house, because God forbid you anger Health & Bloody Safety.

You can't get anything done because it'll disrupt the cosmic waves of the Earth and it'll annoy the hippies, you can't say anything at all without offending someone somewhere and nothing is allowed because it might hurt someone, possibly if they were in the right circumstances, which means you'll get sued.

And the fantastically shit government will charge you 40% of your money just to be here, before then wasting it on some spectacularly dim project despite the economic difficulties, which in turn will cause yet more taxes to help fund our fucking stupid government.

Don't come to the UK. When I'm done with High School the University it's straight off to USA for me.
Don't come here either, if stupid people and horrible governments aren't your strong point DO, NOT, COME, HERE, I plan to do the same thing except I want to move to Scotland.
I'm in Scotland. -.-

Again, I don't mean to be a downer, but word is that Scotland is still part of Great Britain.
I wasn't saying anything about the government I was just saying that HE doesn't like it there and if he doesn't he shouldn't come here cause we suck even more.

I rarely venture off the island of Oahu, so i haven't really seen a lot of white people, and I've never seen a British person.
We're basically Saiyans. We just drink massive amounts of tea to supress our power levels so we don't get tempted to conquer the world again.

On an unrelated note, I am not a pathological liar and anyone who says I am is clearly a communist.

Do you guys have some kind of unique dialect like Pidgin?
We have ENGLISH. We INVENTED English. EVERYONE ELSE has the unique dialects. OG REPRESENT, chum.

(Oh, and Cockney Rhyming Slang, but that was just so thieves could chat away without worrying about cops overhearing)

I'm american, but i visited the entirety of the U.K. on an ambassadorial trip in 8th grade, and thought it was great. Pretty similar to where I live (new york, no not the city, the state) . Very friendly people, lots of cool sights to see. I stuck mostly to the touristy stuff/places though, idk about the rest

Just wow, the negativity in this thread. The people make the country, and apparently most people in England (If this thread is representative) are moaning, negative ones. No wonder they're not enjoying the country so much. I'm from the South-East in a pretty slow town, and it's really nice here, just not a huge amount to do, but you can make your own fun if you really want to.

Apparently the US notice that there's a lot less socalising between strangers in the UK which I can see, I'm trying to form a US mindset now though, I'm tired of people being so damned distant.

But yeah, you can make a rough image of our country for certain things people have said on here, but it will change dependent on where you go, just like any country, other than that, like the rest of Western Europe, just with a twist of the US.

I've always wondered how New England sized up to the real thing?

Certainly New York has nothing on Real York. York Classic. (Decaffeinated York?)

Are you surprised that there's a lot of groaning and griping in a thread full of Brits? We're incredibly apathetic and rude to each other. Of course, living in cities just has that general effect, I've found. You get apathetic rude people in most urban areas.

Don't even get me started on snow, I'm from a region of New York known for the snow. I've got about 2 feet right now, and that's not much. But yeah, there's not a ton of difference between the two places, I spent 3 weeks in the U.K. and it felt basically the same. Very hot weather, but I think the all time high was reached when I was there.

Ha i love the generalisations Chav's are everywhere, entire portions of the country are boring, the people are stupid (somehow the posters are some kind of exempt species above the rest of us poor plebeians). Yes and of course if you go to America you'll get shot by a crack dealer, if you live in Australia your obsessed by bbq's and your best friend will be a hyper intelligent kangaroo who will let you know if Timmy falls down a well!! None of this is true if you look for it there is beauty and excitment everywhere. If you prefer a warmer clime cool move somewhere hot, if you prefer the wild highlands of Scotland over the beaches of Australia more power to you, enjoy the surf... but don't be ignorant and assume were all stupid because we love this rainy old girl..

I dont know where all this Highlands grief comes from. Every time I've been there, it's been wonderful.

Maybe they're still pissy about Churchill and the anthrax at Gruinard. (Look it up.)

I went to southern England and found it excruciatingly boring.

I went to Scotland and Newcastle, and it was brilliant!

I'm Irish by the way.
So what was wrong with the south? I live in Devon so, Explain Yourself!!

Always wanted to visit the U.S, especially the New England area, when I was travelling we met 2 guys from Boston who really nice people (they were pretending they were from Canada at first). Joining the Royal Navy later on this year so hopefully I'll be sent across the Atlantic
