seriously think about what will replace the 360 and the ps3 what will games have evolved to then.think about it.

Also use your thoughts for ideas and post them as comments. put up what you think would be a great idea for a new console and even a game to kickstart it into the market.

There will be another console with more processing powers, bigger engines, less bugs, and the ability to have more things running at once. You know the same thing that always happens.

The 360 and the PS3 will vie for our attention for a good-long time until a bigger and better console comes out. Sony will probably strike first, knowing how competitive they are, then Microsoft, then Nintendo.

It's the usual with console upgrades, more power, features/options, things to buy, true 1080p for all games, bigger storage, more draw distance, hopefully enough ram this time around, a "maybe" for backwards compatibility, a silly name? etc.

I'm mainly hoping for the current consoles to let carry over our subscriptions of our various software bought on their consoles (Games, expansion packs, xboxlive arcade/virtual console/wiiware stuff) and perhaps letting the same controllers work with their new system because this generation has had the most expensive controllers (yes they've had more options but they're still 50-60 bucks).

microsoft's next console will be the most reliable ever made, capable of sustaining itself in blistering heat and able to withstand massive blunt force trauma. you wouldn't be able to kill it if you tried... and it will be named something like "Xbox 360 Squared"

the playstation4 will be dirt cheap and stripped of all unnecessary features, but will still be the cheapest blue-ray player on the market...

nintendo will name their next console "Poo" simply so that they can release the games PooPlay, PooSports and PooFit...

...What is there to "seriously think about?" Microsoft and Sony will just release a new, more powerful console capable of playing games with even better graphics, featuring tweaked online services and a variety of new features to play around with. Though, I think we are getting close to the "graphical cap" and we will get to a point in one or two generations where you just CAN'T make games look any better.

I don't think there will be less bugs, but sadly Yahtzee is right; again. Anyway, games can't look much better than how they are and I think Wii is in the running for virtual reality as of now what with motion sensor already making it.

Everyone will try too hard to correct the flaws that their previous one had.

Another generation will go by without a game that decently does melee combat on a scale of armies.

PS3 may go down in flames after removing backwards compatibility and other features. I don't know where Sony plans on taking it but PS4 seems like a logical step. But by that point I may hate them so much I won't care.
