I finally built a PC, and I really wanna do some gaming on it.
I don't know what's out that's great, and since I finally can run all this stuff, I wanna know what titles to pick up.
I was thinking of King's Bounty: Armored Princess.
It got in Gameinformer's top 50 of '09, and looks pretty good.
I'm also interested in Starcraft II, but I think I should play the first first.
Then there's the shooters. Bad Company 2 is really cheap on steam, and I'd like to see how the PC version runs, since I've already played the crap out of the console version.

So, what do you guys recommend?

Turn-based Strategy - Civ V.
Casual - Zombie Driver.
FPS/RPG - System Shock 1/2. Deus Ex. STALKER.
Horror - Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Porn. Oh, you mean what's good game-wise? I agree with the Stalker games, it'll take you almost an hour to get anywhere, not so much cause it's far, but because you'll be stopping every few feet scanning the area for anything that can kill you!

Anything you've enjoyed on a console, see if there's a modding community for it on PC.

Can't really recommend anything specific, though, it would appear we have vastly different taste in games.

This. The Elder Scrolls games and Fallout 3/New Vegas are practically completely different experiences on the PC because of the Mod community.

As far as other games go, definitely minecraft, Dragon Age: Origins is much better on the PC. You should check out the steam catalog. They've got a bunch of really good games.
Yeah, what are the good mods for Oblivion?
I'm downloading it now, and I really want to mod the crap out of it.
No overhaul mods, though.
I have the complete edition, and I want to still be able to use the add-ons.

EVE is interesting. But you have to consider this:
[/spoiler]
EVE does not hold your hand and will not warn you when the difficulty in a story arc goes from cake walk to murder-frenzy.
