I'm sure others have asked this, but what's next for the war game franchise? They've already covered modern warfare and milked the hell out of WW2 but what's left? Is the next game going to be the American Civil War or some futuristic, spacey game?

Call of Duty: Office Warfare.

"JOHNSON! WE NEED THOSE PAPERS FILED NOW!"

One of the perks will include spending a longer time at the water cooler.

Probably MW3, 4, 5, and whatever they can milk out of it.

Call of Duty: Medieval Warfare

But seriously, it will still just be more of the same old thing. I wouldn't be suprised if people are playing CoD 27 in a few years, I just don't see the appeal of that type of game.

...

I would play that.
I honestly wouldn't mind another WW2 one. For some reason the Modern Warfare games are a bit too linear, while Call of Duty 2 had huge battles where you had some options. And it's becoming too much like an action movie.

Perhaps the series should end. Not that it will...ever.

Doubt it, considering the cliffhanger they left us with at the end of MW2 and the stupid amounts of money that they made off it

Well, there certainly are plenty of conflicts to use. Eliminate all those without guns... and all those with guns that wouldn't be fun to use (muskets, etc) and you still have a pretty big list to chose from. So I'd say... World War 2.

I decent into mediocracy with the switch of company heads I can think of only a few games that were any good when they switched to a new company.

I was thinking vietnam too. And medieval warfare would probably suck as a first person, its just knifing but with swords.
