I was thinking vietnam too. And medieval warfare would probably suck as a first person, its just knifing but with swords.
I did try a few decent medieval fps. Dark messiah for one and also age of chivalry, oblivion, etc.

Oblivion was good but I don't think that works for multi-player so much. At least not in a CoD way.

Call of Duty: Office Warfare.

"JOHNSON! WE NEED THOSE PAPERS FILED NOW!"

One of the perks will include spending a longer time at the water cooler.
The training mission will involve getting to the only working photocopier in the office.

Don't know but i'd like to see CoD with a branching story/mission structure so that you could play missions based on soldier classes. It would be more interesting to see the game unfold purely through the eyes of a sniper.

the next CoD will take place in a volcano.
Haha! Damn you, I just laughed out loud in my class. And now everyone is staring at me.

OT: It's going to Vietnam.

I actually wouldn't mind an American Civil War CoD game. It would be something like: "Call of Duty: Destroy the racist hicks!"

But seriously, that sounds like it could be good.

Treyarch is releasing CoD: Vietnam later this year, and another developer is going to release MW3 in 2011. I'm not sure if it's still Infinity Ward or not.

God I can't wait for this franchise to die.

Well it may not be anything anytime soon. Activision fired the two people who practically made COD... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35713047/ns/technology_and_science-games/

I think they should go to another planet (I guess that would be a completely different game though)

Call of Duty: Anglo-Zanzibar War. The short single player campaigns of todays COD games will fit nicely with the war that lasted half an hour. Or perhaps Call of Duty: Suez Crisis?

Seriously though, Vietnam is rumoured to be next. But to be sure, it will be a conflict in which America was involved as I can't imagine an American audience will be interested in playing an entire game as a Brit, Canadian or ANZAC.

Y'know Vietnam might actually be a bad idea, cause it's gonna be from a US soldiers point of view right? But the US lost that war so why would they make a game if at the end of the campaign it screws you over?

Not so much a first person shooter as a first person spread aids to innocent people, rape and kill them before burning their bodies in a ruined school-er.

I like.

Call of Duty: World War 1. You spend the first 9/10 of the game rotting your feet off in a trench, and then you're forced to go over the top and do a suicide charge against German machine guns.

Korean War, they could recycle all the weapon models from WaW and have new battles to explore! Yay!
