Since I don't go out of my way to play bad games...

Rage.

Lacks innovation of any kind, entirely derivative. The graphics are not impressive in the least. The game world is boring, and, in a way... the whole game is kind of a bore.
I'm having trouble finding the motivation to play (and eventually finish) the damned thing.

I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy DNF more than Rage.

Your favourite game. Yeah, that game sucked. No offence, but, personally, I couldn't stand it. Unplayable piece of garbage, in my opinion. I just hated every second of it.

Serious Sam 2. A huge letdown from the brilliant original. Everything they could have ruined, they invariably DID. Hemmed-in levels. Nerfed guns. Sh*tty vehicle sections. Unimpressive enemies. Crappy "cute" smurf-things with voice acting that made me want to clean my ears with knitting needles. One of the few games I bought on the first day of release, and returned the next day. An abomination.

Perfect Dark Zero. A terrible game in every respect. Dated graphics, copy-pasted clone enemies, terrible gameplay.

Going to have to go for Ninety Nine Nights.... just er no.

On a strictly personal note: Oblivion, just didn't get it, felt horrible and was just dull and tedious. I loved Morrowind and Daggerfall though, not sure quite what they changed that made it lose it's spark for me.

I've played Forbidden Forest for more hours than Oblivion :/

Well, as far as truly abhorrent games go, I think I'll say Batman Forever. This has already been touched up on my Angry Video Game Nerd, but I feel the need to accentuate on it. It's a horrible, horrible game for numerous reasons. The most evident part of its fail is the controls. Half the button combo's don't work and it never explains how to USE anything - so much for having explosive gel if there's no use for it. Another issue I had is the fact that it didn't give you a clue as to where you were going. No map, no instruction, no nothing. It basically said "Here, good luck." Not to mention the option to play as Robin. For real? Who would pass Batman in favour or Robin?

Another that's newer but I still hate is Silent Hill 4. Unlike Batman Forever, only have one complaint; the main protagonist annoys me to no end.

Medal of Honour, hands down worst game of 2010. Crappy n' short campaign, highly unlikeable characters and shitty story telling. The multiplayer is repeatative and mundane. The gameplay is just soooo boring and shooting people is even worse. Screw you DICE!
That was pretty damn terrible, but I found Far Cry 2 from 2009 to be worse.
Hey, I loved Far Cry 2, beautiful game. Yeah I suppose most of missions where composed of go here, destroy or kill this etc, but it did it so well. And I love sniping from a hillside, taking out a guys leg and luring out his buddies and wound them too. I do understand where your coming from.
The fact that there are SEVERAL game-breaking glitches, and that I'll never be able to beat the game because I can't reload my medicine, is kind of a deal-breaker.

EDIT: OT, Medal of Honor and Fable 3 both make the cut for shooter and RPG, respectively. I'd also add Brink for biggest discrepancy between game concept versus delivery. The concept was near-perfect, but the delivery was atrocious.

damn guys do you even know what worst game you ever played means? You guys are naming games like Call of Duty, GTA, Far Cry 2, Halo, etc. When neither is as horrible compared to the REAL bad games like Superman 64, ET for Atari, Shaq Fu the game, etc. Come on guys really THINK, the WORST game you have ever played.
In that case, dammit, you already said it. ET. Nearly tied with that for me is Iggy's Wrecking (balls? crew? I can't remember) for the 64 and this horrible Super NES Mario game that involved riding a jet ski around and then...that's all I can remember.

My least favorite game ever is The World Ends with You for the DS, but the actual worst game I've ever played is probably Batman Forever on the SNES.

Lunar: Dragon Song.

....LUNAR. EFFING. DRAGON. SOOOONG.

I gave that game a chance. I really did. But after 3 hours of tortuous gameplay (gimme a break here, I was on vacation, and there was nothing to do that day!), I wanted to vomit.

Running depletes HP? Walking is so slow that you NEED to run to not take half an hour to get places? Can't tell party members WHICH target to attack (causing the main character to overkill a character that the healer could have finished off, thereby wasting a turn!)? Can't get EXP or money at the same time?! What, were they TRYING to make the worst RPG ever?!
