i really dont see how this movie is considered the "greatest movie of all time" when it just explains how facebook was made. great, i could do a google search and save myself over an hour of filler. and the characters? i couldnt emote with them, they were just a bunch of snooty college students(i admit im biased against college students) who were complaining that they were ripped off. and mark, am i supposed to feel sorry for this guy when he cons a bunch of people and acts like a emo ***** about a girl leaving him? i shouldnt. should i feel bad when someone gets yelled at because they didnt update their status in the last 5 minutes? yes because theyre assosiating with people who think they have lives but really dont.

so why is this movie considered "the great film of all time"?

Not the greatest movie of all time, but likely the best movie you could ever make about a nerd making a web site. Besides, it was mostly the great directing/music/writing that made it good, so if you can't really get into that, I'd imagine you would not like it as it's just a bland drama about hardly likable characters.

Curse you with your misleading title. I thought this was a discussion about social networks.

I am curious to see it due the director's brilliant career. But... Zukerberg it's a big turnoff.

Will probably see it eventually.

I loved it, Mainly because Eisenburg pulls off a really good show.

The movie has some great music, interesting moments so it's not all boring talk, (The scarf burning, the broken chimney) plus the cinimatography is spot on.

I just plain like it. It's not everybodies favorite cupcake but it sure is mine.

It was alright. I enjoyed it enough to watch it again someday, but it's not close to being a great movie. I'd much rather rewatch Zombieland or Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

It's really a very well made movie. Definitely not 'greatest of all time' but I thought it was far better than The King's Speech (though 127 Hours should have won the Oscar). The writing and direction are excellent, and the acting is well above average (Justin Timberlake, surprisingly, steals every scene he's in).

Like somebody said above, it's probably the best possible movie that can be made about nerds sitting around writing code for a website.

i love both of those

ah well at least the oscars were better than the 08 shitfest(dark knight[all comic book movies suck], gran torino[clint eastwood cant be in good movies] and the wrestler[wrestlings for rednecks, rednecks dont know good stuff] not even being nominated and we get the reader, which was considered the worst thing that year that was considered "artsy")

I think a lot of people who haven't seen it are put off by the perceived fact that it's all about Facebook, but it's really just the story of a college student creating a very successful website. Aside from the name, the site is only referenced in a few offhand lines, so people who don't use it shouldn't feel like they'd be lost. Overall, it's a film that takes a relatively dull premise but uses it in a way that is exciting and enjoyable to watch, even when the only action onscreen is Zuckerburg writing code.

Better than I thought it would be but not amazing. I thought it was an entertaining and embellished story one of the largest technological landmarks of this generation. Whether you like facebook or even use it at all you still have to admit the profound effects that it has had on modern internet and social conventions.

It just falls into that Oscar baiting category if you ask me. People seem to be all over those kinds of things.
