Also, what would be a good starting point for Ben Folds? I enjoyed his song 'Rockin the suburbs'
Right at the beginning...the self-titled 'Ben Fold's Five' album. There isn't a track on that album that isn't filled with goodness. Check out 'Underground' for the catchiest single and 'Philosophy' for the best piano playing.

You can explore from there. :)

My favorite piano music is actually some of the Silent Hill songs played on piano. The Silent Hill 1 Theme, Promise, and Song of Laura are some of my favs. Oh, and Witchcraft.

Since everyone's gone the classical route thus far, how about some jazz. Dave Brubeck anyone?

I really like Ludovico Einaudi. He has some popular songs you have probably heard before like Le Onde and Divenire
Man, I was going to be all original and name him. Damn.

Oltremare is great!

There is a pretty interesting band by the name of My Own Private Alaska. They're a French experimental band consisting of a classical pianist, drummer, and screamer, really interesting stuff.

That is the Most Awesome Band Ever.
Is that sarcasm? or do you actually enjoy it? most of the people that I introduce to the band don't like it.

I liked it.
Only good in small doses, though.

Go listen to One Angry Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces.
And then the Brick album.

Grade 8 is pretty good, if it's the same as grade 8 here.

I'm grade 8 for piano and sax. I was classically trained on piano, high school band route on sax.

I play jazz now, on both.

I've never had vocal lessons, so I pretty much suck.
I sound better when I sing in a Scottish accent, though. It's weird.
Haha, that's a first ;)

Grade 8 is the highest grade you can be examined for here. Should be interesting.

Nice, I love jazz music. Just wish more people were into it.
Grade 8 is what gets you into college for free here.

Yeah. Jazz is great.

Kudos to whoever said Dave Brubeck!

Also, as a pianist of coming up to 15 years' experience, the only piece of piano music I still haven't learned that I desperately want to ('Heaven Can Wait', check; 'Piano Man', check; 'The Entertainer', check) is Mussorgsky's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' (the original piano version, not to be confused with either of the popular orchestrations). There's plenty of harder piano music out there, but I don't think I'll ever have the time to get good enough to tackle it.

Try a band called The Philadelphia Experiment. Modern Jazz, "conservative" modern Jazz I like to call it because it doesn't stray too far from the the classic formula (and when I say classic I'm referring to the golden age of jazz between the 40's and the 60's). Pretty funky and mellow; you want to go straight to a track called (Re)moved, piano and upright bass, awesome groove. Don't worry, they only released one record called, well "The Philadelphia Experiment" so you won't have a problem finding that particular track. Hope you like it as much as I do.
