Now I'm a really big music fan, but I haven't really been to many concerts. Some kind of uncontrollable force always prohibts me to going to concerts or bands I like never come close. I've seen free concerts of local bands and such and seen my buddy's band play a couple time, but I've only been to three actual concerts.

I saw the Backstreet Boys at the height of their popularity in 2000. I was only five or six at the time but I remember it being a huge spectacle and being completely awesome.

Then this year (huh ten year gap between concerts) I've seen Umphrey's McGee and The Hold Steady.

Umphrey's McGee, if you haven't heard of them are a jam band along the lines of Grateful Dead and Phish. I had never heard of them before I went, but my friend invited me and it was a great show. The concert was three hours, it was a standing room only show, but they blew me away.

Then I saw the Hold Steady, who are one of my favorite bands, and Company of Theives as the opening act. Company of Theives were great but The Hold Steady just blew them away. They played two straight hours and it was amazing.

Out of those two I enjoyed Hold Steady because I was more familiar with them, but the concerts were different.

TL;DR What was the best concert you attended.

A lot of people might whine at me but
Dragonforce

There was so much energy in the room. I honestly have no clue why people say they are terrible, they played their songs very well missing only a few notes. Everyone was having fun in the room, no one had to be rushed to hospital, no one was raped or anything and when Through the fire and flames came on, it was just incredible

I guess it's from that one youtube video and a few of their first major gigs being drunk. Maybe originally they weren't that great but in December 2008 Rock City, they were incredible

I think people only hate them because a lot of people only heard of them because of Guitar Hero. I know a lot of people who get pissy if you know stuff only from music games.

Metallica at Acer Arena, Sydney, on the 13th of November. I'd been waiting for that moment for years, and never thought the day would come. They were absolutely amazing.

Other notables would have to be Bullet for my Valentine, Hellyeah, Lamb of God, and Arch Enemy.

I've been to plenty of other gigs, but those would have to be the absolute highlights since I started regularly going to gigs two years ago.

I'm also seeing Muse in less than two weeks, which should be amazing.

Just say the Harddrive live tour with 10 Years, Aranda and A New Revolution, bad ass concert, I've also seen Toby Keith and Trace Adkins touring together and that was a fun show too, lots of cute coeds in daisy dukes running around lol

That too, there is a lot to get annoyed at them for bad decisions but if you let them slide you can have a lot of fun listening and watching them live

Best concert I ever saw was Muse when they played in Vancouver last April. Blew my mind to pieces.

Yeah, I've heard that they're an amazing live band; one of the best. Having seen both the Absolution live DVD and HAARP, I would have to agree. I can't wait!

Metallica at Rock in Rio Lisbon 2004. It was the first concert with Trujillo in Portugal. Other serious contenders would be Iron Maiden (they had a great playlist)and The Killers (those guys put on an awesome spectacle).

Got to see vairous props and costumes from the movies and the band played an encore of the "Imperial March" after the show ended and the actor for C-3P0 showed up as well!

I saw Drive-by Truckers at a small venue shortly after "The Dirty South" came out. They played for about three hours and it blew my mind. Also, Wilco always puts on the best shows. Always.

I've only seen two concerts in my life, both at the same place and the same band. Muse at Stockholm during their Black Holes and Revelations tour and then their Resistance tour. The former was the best, seriously, my mind was blown after they had played this:

And I would have seen them a third time this summer if they haden't canceled their concert in Sweden. ;_;
