Resident Evil 4, Spider man 2 and Ratchet and Clank 2 for under 15 euro all together. Awesome games the lot of them, which have helped keep me sane since my 360 bricked itself.

orange box for $45
tf2 alone was worth it
add 3 half-life games (about 20-30 hours all up)
and portal the best pc game released to date
...well yeah
hey, me too. This was the one pre-order I made that I don't regret buying in advance.

Mirror's Edge for $4 AUD. That's less than two McDonalds cheeseburgers, and I loved it.
Also WAY BETTER for you. The 4-20 hours (depending on replay) you spend spend sitting on your ass playing this game is both healthier and more satisfying than 2 McDonald's Cheeseburgers. Congrats on that deal.

Bayonetta for $4 is definitely the best buy I've got out of any game!
wow how close to release was that?

Anyways, Deus Ex for $2.50 USD. I can say, with certainty, that thats the best $2.50 (or less) I've ever spent in my life.

Also I got a promodisc that came with the LoZ: Windwaker pre-order for $20. It has Loz:OoT MASTER'S QUEST. yeah. At any price its a deal; this disc is hard to get.

Fallout 3 Game of The Year Edition...

Bought it on eBay for the 360, paid $50... They sent me the PS3 version... I told them that they made a mistake, and as an apology, they not only sent me the 360 version, but they let me keep the PS3 one...

So now I got an unopened PS3 copy of FO3 that I could sell on ebay for 10 times what I paid for it... if I want...
wait what?

10 x $50 = $500. I doubt anyone would pay that.

10 x 0 = 0. That's not really selling it; that's giving it away.

I bought Ultima Online over 10 years ago for... mhh... I don't know... about 30 bucks? Maybe less.

And I'm still playing it. So a couple of beers worth of money gave me thousands and thousands hours of game time. Literally.

Let's see...

Free Portal, but that's too obvious. I've had some great deals through Steam sales -- paying less than $5 most of the time -- but the best deals have to be all the cheap games I buy used or on sale at brick and mortar stores. There was the Fallout collection, three games for $10 total -- new -- the time I found Oblivion for $2, the time I found the first three Heroes of Might and Magic games for $2 total, and just last weekend, I found Battlefield 2 for $5. I think the best deal I've ever got on a single, non-bundled game was the time I got the original Civilization for $1.00, including sales tax. Basically, neither the shop owner nor I wanted to deal with breaking a dollar bill just for $0.07 worth of sales tax, so he sold the game to me for $0.93. Considering how many hours I got out of that game, it was definitely a good deal.

P.S.: Technically, Civilization was bundled on a disc with a crappy early 90's flight sim, so I guess you could say I got it for under $.50. However, I only played that flight sim once before deciding it wasn't worth my time, so the $.93 figure stands. If anyone is interested, it was <link=http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/928614-civilization-and-xf5700-mantis-experimental>this bundle, and I had a hard time finding any confirmation of either its existence, or the existence of the flight sim when I bought it. The weird thing is that it was the DOS floppy version of Civ, not the CD version, but it was on a legitimate CD.

My boyfriend gives me games he's finished with (or doesn't have time to play) for free. Ours is a beautiful relationship.
Is he BI by any chance? I want some of that action :p

Got the Orange Box for $15, a bloody steal, I'm still afraid Emperor Gabe will be kicking down my door every time I pull the box out.
Then you look at Activision selling 4 map DLC for the same money... just wow.

I now looked 3 times through my collection, and i'd say that for me its quite clearly Cave Story for 0$ (it's freeware). IJI would be the runner-up (also freeware), but in terms of scope and nonlinearity it still pales in comparison to Cave Story.

My cousin is a great source for me to get a few old games for cheap. Both Final Fantasy Tactics and Legend of Dragoon I bought off of him for about $20. Considering that I paid more than twice that for Chrono Trigger, that's not a bad deal...

I managed to persuade this guy I used to be friends with to sell me his Game Boy Color and Pokemon Red for 50p. That's right, half of £1! He was a bit thick but it was win!

Apart from that, went to Gamestation one day about 5 years ago, was playing MotoGP 06 and one of the staff asked me to race them. I came 5th, he came 12th. Asked me what consoles I had (Gamecube at the time), went into the back room and gave me the Legend of Zelda Promotional Disk, which had Zelda 1 and 2, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on it, for FREE!

Hands down winner. Granted I got the 360 version for 60 bucks, but this was in the days that my computer couldn't play Halo C.E.

Got Metro:2033 for $20 two weeks after it came out on eBay. Pretty good considering it's my personal favorite game now. :D

Technically, I didn't even buy Just Cause 2 ($7.50) while there was a Steam sale this week. I had my friend buy it for me, and in return, I'll be building him a Halo Sniper Rifle out of wood.

Bit of an oddity really, I headed into the game shop intending to buy a pre-owned copy of Mass Effect 2, for about £25. On the shelf were both a pre-owned and a regular, unopened copy of the game. The unopened was £22, I bought it.

Win.

I'd probably have to say the entirety of the steam sale at the end of last year. I got

VVVVVV + 4 other games for a fiver.

Recettear + 4 other games for a fiver.

Stalker 1 + 3 for a fiver.

And loads others. I'm simultaneously sad the deals have to end, and glad that I don't just keep buying more stuff every single day...

Super Smash Bros Brawl for $7 was probably the most recent thing. Now if only I could find my Wii cords so I can play it..
