I'm not much of a tea drinker, so my favorite is the Iced Tea because it was the local drink in the city I lived for the longest time, though there the typical food was Chinese food which is odd considering it's a Mexican city also they eat a lot of cats over there, it seems that they are used in the Chinese food restaurants as cat farms have been found near them, I'm pretty sure I've eaten cat at some point or another, and I got off topic... Iced Tea then.

And my winter tea of choice, bergamot like Earl Grey with a shot of Glenfiddich 18 year.
I gotta try this tomorrow, just need to pick up some more earl grey.

My tea of the moment is Genmaicha, tastes of shreeded wheat.

Earl Grey wins for me, although rooibos has something to it as well.

The kind that will crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women! Conversely Green and Goji berry works quite well.

Earl Grey and Chai are my current favourites :3 I need to get some Assam too because I remember that being good.

I like to be "adventurous" with the tea I drink but there isn't really much variety around here, the tea I drink is pretty much limited to whatever Tesco has in stock, so I can't try as much as I'd like to. But still, considering everyone else I know has only tried regular tea I'm not doing too bad :3

Kratom tea gets you high and makes your mouth numb :p
Although a lot of people don't like the taste.

Gives you weird dreams apparently as well, but that didn't happen when I tried it.

I love Lapsang Souchong, but it has quite a strong tarry aroma, it's not to everyone's taste.

I love Oolong. It tingles my spine when i drink it.
Add plenty of sugar though. Maybe even some milk. Some honey if your feeling adventurous

The best kind of tea would undoubtedly be...

Coffee. I'm sorry, Tea tastes like watered down grass. Not very pleasant.

Captcha: DyingsE flavoring. Huh.

I have been called an elitist about tea. I prefer the term "Tealitist". When it comes to tea, it all depends on the what you feel like. Firstly, the best tea will have no additions: No milk, sugar, lemon or honey. The tea should stand alone. The tea should also be loose leaf, to regulate the proper proportion of tea leaves to portion size (1/2 teaspoon per two cups). As for my personal favorites, I will divide it up into 5 categories:

Black Tea: Earl Grey blended with Smoked Pine: it gives the tea a nice richness and remains refreshing and relaxing while still giving a good caffeine delivery.
Green Tea: Monkey Pick Oolong: Originally named because it was picked by trained monkeys, the term is now mostly used to describe the highest quality oolongs. It has a nice earthiness to it, while still retaining the lighter qualities of green teas.
White Tea: Classic Silver Needle: Can be steeped for a short period of time for a nice, light tea, but when steeped for 10 minutes or so will give a very rich flavor.
Red Tea: Roiboss is really the only kind of Red Tea, so it's all about the quality of the tea leaves. I like to drink a Roiboss, Goiji Berry blend which is really light, fruity and provides great energy for extensive periods of time without having any caffeine buzz.
Chai ("Chai Tea" is redundant, "Chai" means "Tea"): Again, it's mostly about the quality of the ingredients, but I enjoy a high quality chai spiced with tumeric.

Of those 5, my favorite tends to by the Monkey-Pick Oolong.

Unless you're actually looking to make some sort of upper class event of this drink (teapot and all), ignore everyone in this thread that isn't specifically mentioning a brand name (Earl Grey is not a brand).

You'll want what's generally defined as a 'Builder's tea [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Builders_tea]' brand.

So an English Breakfast [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Breakfast_tea] ('Orange Pekoe' to most americans) tea brand, such as Tetley, PG Tips, Yorkshire Tea, etc.

My personal favourite is Typhoo, but they don't differ too drastically. You'll want milk, but how much you add is up to you, and adding sugar is your call. Experiment.

I love Teavana's Peach Tranquility [http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/herbal-teas/p/peach-tranquility-herbal-tea] herbal infusion (an herbal infusion is made with herbs, fruit, flowers, and other plant parts. They don't contain any real tea leaves, so they're not technically tea). It's a mix of peach, pineapple, chamomile, lemon myrtle, and a few other things, and it's super relaxing.

If you are into herbal teas, then I recommend Rooibos, or red tea as it is more commonly known. I know it isn't technically a tea, as I mentioned, but I figure it is still somewhat appropriate to the topic. It's got a wonderful, sweet nuttiness to it, and really gives you a great boost of energy (despite being caffeine free). I enjoy it alone, or as a vanilla blend. It's sweet enough to where you shouldn't have to add any sugar... just a dash of milk should you feel so inclined.

White tea is also wonderful as well. It's incredibly sweet and has an absolutely amazing, delicate flavor. A nice and complex tea for a tea lover. Silver needle is the best, but white peony is also good if you are on a budget. Definitely drink it straight up... adding anything to this tea is borderline heresy!

The best tea is the kind you like best. Try some teas and find out!

I used to have a real love of green tea, but lately just plain old black tea is my preference. I do like Earl Grey once in a while though. Never did like Red or White teas. Also didn't like Darjeeling.
