Went into an HMV without anything really in mind for what to buy, left with 11 anime series and a movie.

Bigbox of X-COM: Enemy Unknown/Syndicate for a single euro, in good condition: only some scratches on the box and one of the jewel cases missing.

Audio Technica m50x headphones.

Heh, for real, Dr. Dre not even recommending his own Beats crap? That's rich. Is that brand really good though? I'm used to Sennheiser stuff but I've been looking for a new headset for multiplayer PC gaming. Because even there I want me some good-ass sound.

I have the Solo2 [http://www.beatsbydre.com/headphones/solo2/red/900-00136.html] and, I hate to say this because a friend gave them to me, but they're overrated. They're $200 and the earcups are way too small. I just don't see the appeal of super small earcups. This translates to how the synthetic fiber will wither away in a year or so, as this is always the case with cups that come into contact with uneven surfaces like your earlobes.

They have excessive bass as well, although I do like how everything is significantly louder. They have a built in mic without the need of a little extension, plus the 3.5 mm cable is detachable. They fold nicely and fit well into the small padded case that comes with it, but the tiny size squeezes my giant head. At the end of the day, you could probably buy two sets of decent headphones for the same price.

I also have a Logitech G230, which I got for $40, and they sound just as nice as the Solo2. Plus the oversized earcups are fabric-covered and very comfortable, and the cables are extra long.

...Is it dildos?
because it's ok if it's dildos.

OT:
I haven't bought anything practical recently, but damn, Sunless Sea was a fantastic purchase.

Gonna give my car some service tomorrow after skipping it for 2 ½ years... Gonna cost me 3800SEK($464) and holy fuck does that hurt in the savings chest. Meanwhile, I really love being able to drive to work as public transport takes 1 ½ hour, while the car makes it in 30 minutes, so deep, deep, deep down it feels like it's worth it.

Other than that: The Witcher 3. 75 hours of pure fun(save the Skellige treasure hunting) for 43 euro was so fucking worth it. Finished it today, so it did a good job on entertaining me for almost a full month. Haven't played anything else since it was released.

It's... not? But, given how much money I've [actually] spent, they could have been instead of what I actually bought... ;)

Hmm, well, I finally bought a copy of EVA, which should be arriving in the mail. I also want to purchase Berserk. If it pans, then it'll be the best purchase of the year. That said, it was made available, used, for around $60... which is less then half of the normal selling price, since it's not in print. Which means it could be either crappy or a bootleg. Or a crappy bootleg. I'll buy the blu-ray re-release when it comes out too, but I know they're going to alter the script/voices, so I wanted to get the original while it was still available. Curse coming into anime 20 years after the golden age.

Otherwise? Probably Bloodborne and my new copy of Grapes of Wrath. Gotta love some reading.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. About two weeks ago I took a detour to a stoop sale and saw that this guy was selling 3DS games, wherein I snagged AS for $5 USD (probably could have gotten it for less, but ah well).

Oh I no Beats are pieces of shit, I was referring to those Audio Technica things.

But those Logitech G230's don't look too shabby either. Well, they look garish, but if their quality is good enough I'd put up with it.

A can of electrical cleaner.

My car's indicators suddenly stopped working(but only when the headlights were on) and I was told it'd be £200+ to replace the whole unit, as it was expected that the switch had died

I managed to fix it with a £5 can of electrical cleaner and some patience. I was very pleased.

An 80GB backwards-compatible PS3 (and I've only had to re-buy two PS2 games in order to play them) and, amazingly, I got another $30 off the cost when I bought it. I only wish now that I'd bought one when they came out originally.

Aside from a few paperback plays and pieces of tech that I bought to replace the ones I lost, I have to say that Splatoon for the WiiU has been the best purchase I've made for some time.

I was really excited for this game and was looking forward to purchasing it at a later day. I typically don't buy games day one or a few weeks after, due to all the issues, bugs, and patches that are almost certain to ensue.

However, I played the demo on the particular dates and times and I thought that it was amazing. So last week, I was like, "F*** the wait; I want to play Splatoon right now!" It would have been the first WiiU game that I have ever bought (another sibling of mine is the Nintendo fan that gets all the consoles and games) and I am currently enjoying my first week with the game.

I have to say that I'm actually impressed with myself and that I'm always finding different ways of playing each map (by switching up my weapons and gear), keeping it from feeling repetitive. I'm sure all that will change once I get to the ranked matches.
