Whelp, it was my birthday! I turned nineteen. Which means I can do... nothing different than before. But I did get to go an awesome Japanese Steakhouse for some sushi. Bought Arkham Origins and some more time on WOW with my birthday money. I've got caught up on all my anime series that just finished airing. And I just hung out with my friends last night, played a little Titanfall.

So it was a pretty awesome week.

I suppose the best news I've gotten is that the pain I've been feeling in my foot isn't permanent! I've been running for several miles every day (mostly) for a few years now, and I've lately been feeling and odd pain that has never been there before. After getting some X-rays done this morning, it was concluded that it was mere overuse, and once it's healed up, I'll be back in business! Until then, I think I might try my hand at swimming. I've been swimming all my life, but never as a way to work out. It'll be a *refreshing* experience! Something to *cleanse* my pallet!

... I apologize if my awful and misguided water puns offended you.

On Thursday I found a Skittle in my jacket pocket...it wasn't even one of the good ones. It was a yellow one. Yet that was still the highlight of my week.

...which maybe just goes to show you what kind of a week I've had...

Well, I finished my taxes. While that's probably the best thing that happened to me this week, it didn't exactly leave me elated. Probably the best thing that got me excited was Homestar Runner finally getting an update after years of silence, followed closely by the release of FTL: Advanced Edition. The former beat out the latter due to nostalgia and it being completely unexpected, whereas I've known about the FTL update for months.

So yeah, not exactly a red-letter week.

I've been playing Final Fantasy X again, which has been fun.
That's good, I'll go with that one.

Really nice to relive an experience I had from when I was small.

To me that is pretty much been going to the newly opened Ice Cream Palour near work (it's only walking distance). Not only do they sell the usualy cones and tubs but they also do Crepes, Waffle, Banana Split and Sadane which I made my intention to try every types they're making! Their ice cream is sooo good!! Heh I actually became their number 1 customer so far and I only been there four times!

So far I had the crepe (ice cream on thin pancake) since I haven't had morning shift at work so far (half an hour break is not enough to sit down to eat) and man the crepe was too large for me to stomach down!

I suppose work wise, the region manager was visiting all of the stores in the area (he's like an inspector coming to a school). Despite the lack of manpower we had compared to last time, the overall result was a suprising one. The region manager actually praise the current manager (previous the supervisor) effort saying it was way more neater and cleaner compared to the last three visit to our store!

It goes to shows that keeping a calm and compose mind prevail over a panic mind that the previous manager had from those past three visit! Seriously that ***** panic too easily when a higher up visit and get us to run around for nothing. Funny thing is that she get all of us to come in the day before the visit to clean/ sort out the store during closing time while with the current manager around, only me and him stayed over closing time to sort it out this time round!

Just the announcement of Wolf Among Us: Episode 3 brightened my mood. Always nice to have a noir murder mystery to soothe the nerves. Then there's the increase in Easter candy reserves the nearby stores are experiencing, as well as the announcement for the Super Smash game, and in LoL, Twitch is getting a rework (Twitch is my fave) so that made me happy. Also, Homestar Runner update brought back some good memories!

hmm, Im always one to say its the small things that count, and that can also mean a ton no matter what. I work as a barista in a guest area for a firm, henceforth, managers/people from all over the world come and are usually...quite busy etc, so they dont really indulge in contact, nor do they really do anything except order something and trod off. (yes, its all free..and some of them use it properly...still is a mystery to me how someone can suck down 10 espressos in 30 min and not go bouncing off the roof...ah-hem, anyways)Nevertheless, I do try to make hearts or leaves into cappucinos etc, yet most of them dont really acknowledge that fact and sorta...suck it down haha. But its always nice if someone orders something and you give it to them and they go from '-.-' to ' :D!!! ', but I had some chap order something and he looked gloomy so I tried to make some leaves on it and he was sorta 'oh my god! this looks so lovely, your very skilled at what you do, can I take a pic of that with you?' It doesnt mean alot in the long run of course, and can be easily pushed aside, yet nevertheless, when you notice that you actually managed to brighten someones day up with something as miniscule as that it really is a nice feeling I must admit. So I guess, that was the best thing that happened to me this week haha.

Well let's see... In order of coolness vs. importance:
1. I got my appointment for my graduate committee finished! Now all I have to do is wait for the graduate college to approve it.
2. Moved over Starcraft, Diablo 2, and Warcraft 3 onto an old eMac that our family no longer uses. This is in preparation for upgrading my laptop to Mac OS X 10.8.
3. Started watching Space Dandy. Its intro makes me want to dance some steps from Saturday Night Fever.

I got to see the new Captain America movie without having it spoiled. That was very nice, because the very next morning a big spoiler appeared on my Twitter feed.

Walked around my workplace waving a lumens meter around earlier this week (we were considering upgrading all the lights to industrial grade LEDs and needed to know the current light output)

Got a great laugh out of all the people giving me weird looks, especially those that asked what I was up to, since I was able to truthfully tell them that I was testing for radiation.

I've been going to the movies a lot this past few week (film fest) and saw some very good ones - Rush, The Jericho Mile and Only Lovers Left Alive just now. It's been fun but a bit tiring in the long run.

I went and watched The Grand Budapest Hotel. A strange film and not one that is easy to forget, which is good, because the film was good. The Chinese meal was the highlight of the day, though. I love those little informal cafes tucked away in some nook or cranny off the main road.
