What's the coolest band from your state/country

I was just looking through lists of bands by state and realized some states have tons and tons of famous artists while others have almost none. So I ask you all who is your favorite band from your own state? Or if you do not live in the United States, who is your favorite band from your country? I'm from Ohio so my vote is definitely for Nine Inch Nails.

The state is Michigan, for the record. A.WK was born in Cali, but moved to MI at a very young age (like 4 or something).

from bristol/somerset- Massive Attack for sure, they're genius
for a modern band from england- probably radiohead, maybe oasis or the verve based on memories of their past glories.
