England, we got, Motorhead, Sex Pistols, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Oasis and a shit load of other cool bands, we also got shitloads of sissy rock though, Coldplay, The Killers, ect.

from england- the Stones or the Beatles of course
from bristol/somerset- Massive Attack for sure, they're genius
for a modern band from england- probably radiohead, maybe oasis or the verve based on memories of their past glories.
