Just wondering what the most insane, irresponsible, crazy, lucky to still be alive thing that you've done? Something that you'll tell your grandchildren about?

For me, it was back in '97/8, when my friend started seeing the guitar player of a rock band called Cold. They were playing in Manchester when she commented on how good looking one of them was. Due to the fact that I was hammered and had no idea who they were anyway, I did the good old "my mate fancies you" routine, and we both got invited back to the tour bus after the album signing was done.

I ended up falling asleep on the tour bus whilst she was making out with the one she liked, but when I woke up I saw that we were moving. It was also daylight and a sign was going past. With "Welcome to Glasgow" on it... Thats a fair way away from Manchester.

The coach stopped at the Uni, with no way for us to get home, as the trains had stopped for the night (it is a hell of a long drive!), so we ended up in a youth hostel for the night, right next door to someone who my friend knew (turns out she burned down their school). We finally managed to get a coach back home the next day, to rather unhappy parents...

A couple of months later we went to Florida then Cincinatti to watch the band play at a uni/college. After the gig we went to the now infamous tour bus, where the guitar player decided to propose.
We ended up giggling out of nervousness and shock - turns out thats a bit offensive in the US so things went a bit pear shaped after that. She never saw him again.

I was seventeen at the time, gods know how I'm still alive after all that (not to mention that we stayed in a nasty Travel Inn type place, the pizza guy in his fifties ended up calling the room at 2am, frightened the life out of me...).

So, anyone got any other tales of teenage escapades? Apologies for the writing style, I'm not that good at (albeit true) story telling!

I sprained my back jumping down the stairs at my old house. Basically, we had the ground floor, half the flight of stairs going up to a landing, then the rest going in the opposite direction, with a hallway to the master bedroom. So, due to the layout, there was a plaster overhang over the lower flight of stairs where the hallway was. Being young and stupid, I would jump down the stairs. Unfortunately, on the last jump, I had hit a growth spurt. My forehead slammed into the plaster overhang, I flattened in midair, according to my older sister, then fell about 6 feet onto the corner of one of the steps. Took 6 Advil that day, and still missed school the next day do to barely being able to move. And from that day on, there was a dent in the plaster the size of my forehead.

I climbed a small water tower, while I was drunk, in the middle of a snowstorm. I actually did fall off, but it had been snowing for approximately forever, so I got off with a mild case of scared to death.

A couple years back, me and an absolute horde of buddies took a group trip to Cuba to enjoy some music, cheap booze and uncomfortably preferential treatment based on nationality. Did you know that rum and cigars over there are literally cheaper than food? That simple fact fueled a lot of stupidity, but the worst was when I decided to take a walk, by myself, completely smashed, barefoot, through Havana in the middle of the night. About ten minutes after I left my hotel, I was completely lost and people were following me. Somehow, I got back to the hotel in under an hour with all my organs in their originally assigned places. Being lost, posessionless and out of your head in a foreign country where you don't speak the language is a special sort of terror.

Erm...
I forgot to turn off the electricity when changing a light bulb and I got slightly shocked?

I'm not really stupid, sorry.

Lying on the roof of a van while flying down a beach at 100+ Km/h and trying to hold my friend up who was falling off the side. Now THAT was a good time!

...Oh yeah, by friend was fine. I let him go when we slowed a bit.

Lighting a whole buch of, well we call them bangers in england but there basically small explosives similar to what americans have called fire crackers, and the throwing them at each other (me and five of my mates). This in itself is dangerous but we did it in the middle of the day and sober and got some pretty funny looks when we came out of the park, oh yer it was in a park, from where all these loud bangs had come from. NO injuries though so it's all good

Well, being as my friends and I tend to get really stupid ideas late at night, we decided it would be fun to go bombard one of our other friends at his house while he was sleeping. Armed with a full box of pizza with which to slap him, we drove to his apartment. Knowing his door is usually unlocked, we barged in and made it half way through the living room before one of my buddies stopped us and said "Wait.."

We looked around the apartment. Spotlessly clean, very unusual. No cigarette smoke, highly unusual. An oxygen tank? That's not even right. It was then that we realized, since we hadn't been to his house for months as we were at Uni, that... he had moved.

We heard footsteps and we promptly ran as fast as we could, shoes in hand, as we had taken the time to take them off, (and in one persons case, slices of pizza as well) and went screaming across the parking lot, for fear the resident would get a good look at us and call the cops. If you can imagine what anyone would think seeing a 6'4" guy running across the lot with arms raised, equipped with two pepperoni pizza slices, hollering at the top of his lungs and awkwardly trying to unlock his van, late in the evening... yeah, it was a good time.

And yes, we were sober. That's the sad part.

I've done that, and I'm also not stupid, although I probably lost some I.Q. points as a result!

A bulb snapped in an old lamp & I was trying to unscrew the bayonet part, but I forgot to switch it off or unplug it first.

I don't know how it was for you, but I felt this weird, low vibration/rumbling/buzzing sensation go through my body for what seemed like ages, long enough for me to ponder "What the hell is going on? This feels really weird, what on Earth is happening, and why does my finger feel like it's burning?"

I don't know if time actually slowed down, or whether it just felt like that or if indeed, I did have my finger in a live socket for about 5 seconds while I tried to work out what was happening, but suddenly there was a bang and everything went black.

I woke up a couple of hours later, on the opposite side of the room, lying in a broken bookcase with a headache and a huge blister on my finger.

I think I was pretty lucky & if I'd been left handed I'd be dead.

Just to get things all serious, all of a sudden =P
This is only irresponsible if you're not the crazy person in the relationship. It's much less depressing to be the person someone else regrets.

I think everyone's done that at some point in their life, I think we'll allow it.
I haven't had an all nighter playing an MMO yet though, but I shall do one day!

Woke up one morning in a strange bed with a witch's hat on my head, next to a beautiful woman. Then I rolled over and saw a copy of Dianetics on her nightstand.

I always think back and wonder if she kept the witch's hat. Or did she sober up and toss it for fear of catching body thetans from it.
