...Holy crap I actually remember seeing that when I was a kid! If it wasn't that, it must have been some other claymation with a creepy talking mask.
Wow...
I... Wow. I can't believe I forgot all about that until you showed it.

Anyway, as far as creepy things, I can't think of any online things right off the top of my head. However, I can tell you the story of the time I think I saw a ghost:
My grandparents live on a farm in the middle of nowhere (not making fun of Courage the Cowardly Dog, I'm serious. They live outside of Neosho Falls, Kansas. Try looking it up).
Anyway, during one visit I was sleeping on the couch in the living room. If you've never slept anywhere but in an even remotely urban area, you don't know how seriously dark it gets at night out in the country. So it was dark as hell, but just enough moonlight to see a little.
I couldn't sleep. I was laying on my side, staring at the dark room. Eventually, I thought I saw movement in the living room. It looked for all the world like a kid was in the living room, walking from side to side. None of the grandkids had been born yet, at that time, and my grandparents don't have pets or anything.
I followed the kid with my eyes as it (it was too dark to tell what gender the kid might be) walked from one side to the other, and into a darker part of the living room where it just kind of dissapeared.
I was stunned. I couldn't even bring myself to get up and investigate. All could do was lay there, eyes wide, trying to figure out what the hell I'd just seen.
I mean, come on, ghosts don't exist.
Right?

Well, the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who were pretty damn scary, and I only just saw them. That video is incredibly creepy, though, and I wonder why that was meant to be a kids' show.
They're certainly creepy, but then again that's what we came to expect from Moffat after the gasmask zombies and clockwork monsters...

OT: Any of these fake ghost stories.

Pretty much anything on those kids networks these days, they're all freaking creepy and disturbing. You'd think they'd try to teach people things instead of doing disturbing jokes and toilet humor half the time. If I ever had kids, I'd prevent them from watching that stuff. I'd let them watch older things that weren't too bad a few years back, like the original spongebob's and whatnot. But seriously.

Also, google images can find you VERY creepy things sometimes out of no where. I swear it gives you stuff that makes you want to throw up unless you put on the safeguards.

That game wouldn't be half as creepy if ammo wasn't so comically underpowered. Of course, because ammo is comically underpowered, it's funny, and therfore not creepy. Y'see? Metro is like damn MMO for how long it takes to kill things and to be killed - it could learn a tip or two from stalker.

Those Salad Fingers flash videos scared the fuck out of me.
Did you see the videos I posted above? Salad Fingers is pretty tame compared to Firth's other stuff.
dude dont rip on metro just becouse you cant rush the room and start blasting doesent means its comical and if you read the book or atleast some things ingame whye will explain that the dirty ammo uis made out of normal the thing is to make several sots of dirty ammo they have to pop open one normal round take oput the powder mix its with some burning substances and poor into the the several casing of dirty ammo and hey thats why i loved metro cause it was fucking unforgiving not only do you have to be catios and dont stick your head out head to much you must also haul ass wich is much better than run and gun like no tomorow halo or some ather fpses and it dosent have shit on mmo cause metro is realism and not a fucking grind quest fest and if you peel your eyes open soldiers are well armored anyways no mean to offend or piss you off good sir :D
Sorry - I had a hard time reading that, but I think I got the gist.

My critisisms are based off of gameplay - the story shouldn't get in the way of gameplay. I understand that it's based off of a book, but Metro 2033 is a GAME. It should prioritize better. Besides, based off of the game, i can only assume that the book read like this:

"Artur shot at a bandit. It did nothing. The Bandit shot him in the face, so Artur hid behind a barrel for a bit until he was all better. Then Artur nade-spammed and killed everybody.

As Artur headed into the direction of the next camp, he counted 5 bandits. One was on his own. Artur shot him with the realyl badass spike rifle thing. Unfortunatly, the bandit fell onto some broken glass. All of a sudden every bandit in the area knew exactly what happened and shot at Artur, who was completely concealed in the shadows. Then Artur hid until he was better, and nade-spammed his way to victory. The End"

Metro is not unforgiving. Men of War is unforgiving. STALKER (with the right mods) is unforgiving. In those games, you need to be on your toes and make quick decisions or you will die. If you step in the wrong place, you explode. However if you know what you're doing then you will get out alive.

Metro has a lot of problems. First off, it's linear as fuck, unlike Men of War or STALKER, so you can't usually bypass a fight and sneak on, because the game wants you to fight. Worse still, the AI are a bunch of heat-seeking omnipotents, and so the first shot fired (no matter how hidden you are) and they all know exactly where you are. This means that there really is no other way to handle things other than to "rush in the room and start blasting".

That brings us to the comically underpowered attacks on both sides. This is really uneccesary. The protagonists has CoD style regenerating health, so if you're carefull then you never die. The enemies have far too much health. I literally would empty an entore clip into a BANDIT. A BANDIT. Then he would maybe die. This is ridiculous, and not AT ALL realistic.

I tried hard to enjoy Metro, I really did. Unfortunatly it just doesn't know how to brin it's themes into it's gameplay, anyways no mean to offend or piss you off good sir :D

Well actually I'm a fan of STALKER, but yeah I'm enjoy it. Unless the bullets were made out of silly putty I don't think there is any explanation as to how it takes an entire clip from a shotgun into a bandit's chest at close range (even if he was wearing +1 plate it wouldn't be enough). I have not read roadside picknick but only because I'm illiterate.

Slenderman and his accompanying paranormal pictures thread on Something Awful. There is something extremely disturbing about an entity oozing with malevolence that is only in the background, watching you. Was not as impressed with Marble Hornets, but that thread has some pictures that would make anyone check over their shoulders a tad more often than they otherwise would.

EDIT: As to the video in the OP, I agree that it is rather disturbing in terms of context (a show for children), but it struck me as more bizarre than creepy.
Oh, God. Slenderman. I first watched that video at around 10:30 at night...BIG MISTAKE!!!

A few years ago I watched The Exorcist.

Oh. My. Gosh.

That movie screwed me up for months, even with its outdated special effects. I couldn't sleep in my room and had nightmares! If I think of that face while I'm getting to sleep I STILL lay awake for a long time trying to forget it! :shiver:

It still works wonders on muties and dags. Shotguns in videogames seem to have reached this unrealistic conclusion that shotties are one-hit kill weapons all the time, if your wearing body armour then they really don't work so STALKER is realistic in that respect. There's a reason the military generaly only uses shotguns for breaching doors.

I always get anoyed when people say the guns in STALKER are weak or pants, what they are is inacurate. If you can hit them on the head any weapon will take them down, it's just hitting them is the problem because the bullets suffer real environment effects such as gravity and wind when they are fired. Once you get the G36 you're pretty much sorted, headshots come easily on semi-auto.

Also if you are too illiterate to read Roadside Picnic (a real shame because it's brilliant) then you should try the equally brilliant film Stalker, it is close to 3 hours long though.

It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, it's just aimed at all these sorts of things - lot of effort sunk in, and they're quite creepy when you first read them, but they're so obviously fake.
