What's the deal with bacon?

I like bacon, especially a good BLT with fresh tomatoes.. but, I don't understand the internet's obsession with it, either.

Bacon is so amazing I once ran out of bread and had a bacon sandwich which was Bacon wrapped in more Bacon.

I don't understand the cultural phenomenon persay but I can see where they would be coming from. Bacon goes with everything!

Yeah, I loves me some creamy bacon ice cream.

I can't really get bacon ice-cream so crispy bacon on vanilla is all I can get! Not complaining though, it's still good.
