Obsession is a form of lust. It's completely selfish.

(True) Love has the well-being of the other person first, and yourself last. It's far from selfish.

And in the interest of full disclosure, I'd consider myself obsessed but since said object and myself are likely to never see one another every again (and let's face it, never did when the chances might've occured), leave me wallowing in my shameful avarice; it harms nobody but myself.

All love is also lust. All lust is also obsession, though it is not necessarily love. Obsession is not necessarily love or lust.
