When I turned 16, my dad had a 2003 Nissan Maxima. I borrowed it one night to go watch our high school football game, which was in another city. We ate dinner afterward at a diner, so it was about midnight by the time I got back on the freeway to drive home. And I saw a patch with absolutely nobody for at least 3 miles, so I stepped on it. I got up to 130mph before I hit traffic again, at which point I stopped. That was my landspeed record for two years.

Two years later, I got my motorcycle endorsement and got a '91 Ninja 600ZX. Took it out on an unused backroad with 4 miles of straightaway and wound out the transmission. In 6'th gear, at a red-line tacked 13,000 RPM, it was just over 135 mph. The engine probably could have handled 140-145 with a different transmission, but 135 on a motorcycle is plenty fast. And even though it was only 5 mph faster, it felt WAY faster than the car did at 130.

I'm 21 now, and looking back, I figure I was a little reckless. I've calmed down a lot since then, I don't constantly speed everywhere and I actually come to a complete stop at stop signs now. And it was after I made this transition to a calm, respectful, courteous driver, that I got into my first accident. Irony is a *****.

I got up to 180km/h on a narrow country road. Probably could have pushed it a bit further but I didn't have room. Never, ever again

my current car's a stock Ford Falcon XR6, fastest I've done was 220km/h before the car started shaking and shook more when braking. Hasn't got the most....locked steering column and gear stick as the previous owner had a head-on collision and buckled the diff a bit.

Fastest might be something around 230.
This isn't yours is it?

125mph in ford focus...I didnt intend to go that fast really...the speedo kinda just crept up, I hadnt looked at it for a while and the lane I was in was clear...sooo 70mph turned into 80 easily enough and I knew...when 80 got to 125 and I noticed I thought hmm I should slow down.

my uncle let me drive his new Nissan GT-R on the M5 at like 3 in the morning. I believe i hit 148 mph and it was the most terrifying thing ever. In fact, everything about that car is utterly terrifying; the acceleration, the handling, everything.

About 120km/h. That's the highest speed limit we have in Finland, and I always try to not break any laws. It's a great way to avoid getting fines or losing your licence.

I think 130 mph on a straight country highway. I'm extremely glad it was void of police (and any other cars) that night, as I couldn't have passed a breathalyzer to save my life, and coupled with the 65 mph over the speed limit I'm sure there would've been severe consequences. That was four years ago, and after that I realized that driving drunk was incredibly fucking stupid and I stopped doing it. Then 5 or 6 years ago I liked driving down a winding hillside with turns labeled at 30 mph at around 60 mph, crossing over into the oncoming lane, getting up to 90 on the straightaways. Never encountered another car thank God, but if I would have there would've been no time for reaction.

I'm really just thankful every time I think about it that I didn't end up getting someone else killed doing that jackass shit. Teenagers do stupid shit, but really, hurtling forward at over 100 mph in a metal box with the chance of killing someone else because of your own stupidity isn't worth it. I'm just pissed at myself when I think about. And I'm grateful that I didn't hurt or kill anybody else, and had the sense to realize how fucked up and dangerous it is and stopped.

80 MPH, sounds comparatively, but this was two years ago when I was 13, and seeing as I live in Britain I won't be able to drive for another 2 years. Also it was at a father/son track day.

Fastest I have ridden in a car was a BMW (Z3 I think... the little sporty 2 door) in Germany at about 220 kph (what is that 135 mph?). It felt like we were doing 60 kph it was totally smooth and didn't feel that fast. I got behind the wheel and did just shy of 200. Driving at that speed seemed like suicide. It was interesting that I felt less in control driving than riding at high speeds.

Roughly 80km an hour, I know not that fast compared to some of the stories on here but it was on my uncles farm in a car which was about as old as me and only had half a roof.

121 mph in my old car (Ford Escort) on a deserted stretch of dual carridgeway at about 1 in the morning. Was nice to see what it could manage but would never try it again.

I went 210km/h in my XR6. Probably the dumbest thing I have ever done. Happily, I didn't die.

About 20 km/h. Phew, that was intense. Yeah, I don't drive. Can I just say though, if you're going to speed, speed responsibly. Do it on your own property, where you'll only kill yourself if you crash.

I've driven 110mph about 3 times this week to get to emergency calls. Then I get to drive an ambulance at 90mph. I love my job.

A little over 80 MPH, in my 2009 Nissan Sentra.

I'm not ashamed. I had a friend who recently got a ticket for going 33 MPH over the limit (so about 100 on the Interstate). Because she was going 25 over the limit, she is now officially considered a felon. And she's lucky--had she been 35 over, she would have been charged with attempted manslaughter. Speeding is srs bsns.
