I searched to find if this topic had already been discussed but came up with nothing, so if there's already a thread regarding this, please excuse me.

Now onto the question:

What game(s) scared you the most when playing it? It could be just shocking moments in the game or being scared the entire time you played it or even being afraid for a longer time after you've stopped playing.
Share your horror stories!

Mine would have to be Thief: Deadly Shadows, during the time you're in the haunted asylum, with zombie/living-dead mental patients. It was REALLY dark and the zombies would just get up after a while if you "killed" them, very pissed and wanting to eat your flesh.
That scared the shit outta me and I didn't dare to complete the mission, haven't played thief since.
This was maybe 3 or 4 years ago (I was 13-14 at the time)

The games that freaked me out the most would have to be The Suffering. That whole game was spooky. Especially Dr. Killjoy's asylum.

I rember being tarrified of DOOM but I was like 7 years old... Always getting nightmares, and thinking there was a demon in my closet or a giant metal spiter with a giant head attached... Good times...

This has been done before, several times, but it's good fun anyway so I'm gonna run with it. Project Zero 2 (Fatal Frame in the US,) is undoubtedly the creepiest game I've ever played. Nothing's ever quite matched it for oppressive brooding atmosphere, not even Silent Hill 2.

Plus the fact that you've got to switch to first person to attack ghosts makes you feel even more vulnerable than you already are...

Bioshock is really the only horrorish game I've ever played but the first time I played and even now playing through on hard I get the creeps.

Oblivion had some tense moment especially when I have so many realism mods that a couple slashes kills me.

But overall would be Bioshock because the story is so well combined with the environments and gameplay.

Dark messiah of might and magic, running around with water up to the waist filled with zombies in a maze was fun for 2 minutes, until I realized that they respawned and that I was running low on HP pot's.

Duke Nukem. I still have nightmares about the pig cops in air planes.
Its not funny. Don't laugh at me. =(

Actually, I have a bunch of scaries from DOS FPSs. I don't really remember most of them. I tried to play Duke Nukem once with all the cheats on, and no monsters, but I was horrified and was coated in a cold sweat.

Condemned 2, some moments were truly pant-wettingly scary.

The first few levels of Bioshock are creepy as well, especially the medical level.

i think the most would be the time i played f.e.a.r. the day, well night actually, it came out at 2am and had all the lights off except my computer and had audio canceling headphones so all i heard was the game. wrap all that together with the fact that i was 14-15 and it made one pretty intense night.

I don't get scared. When I game, I inject myself with pure MAN juice.

...On second thought, that sounds horribly wrong, so I'm just gonna say the first time you fight the regenerators in RE:4. Just hearing them breathe before you can see them...

Creepy.

Dementium and Silent Hill. OH MAN.... Demntium, as good as it looks, was shit-your-pants-ifiying. Silent Hill almost killed me. Probably my fault for playing it at night.
