Spore. I bought that at full price when it first came out. One of the worst purchases in my life...

Bit old skool but - Elite 2. Was sooooo buuggy and sooo disappointing after playing Elite on the Commodore 64, Atari ST and finaly a 486DX PC (with speed boost button... wow) to become Elite at last.

From ray traced graphics to filled in colour Polygons - the game practically taught me mathematics as well as where to not sell drugs! To then play a game supposedly the next level for the Elite universe that was crippled by not being coded properly, rushed to store and generally as useful as a baboon gynecologist scarred me for life.

Thank the non-existent-maker that, decades later, games are shipped properly completed and as intended....oh....hang on.

I'd have to say that Eragon is the game I most regret buying. The book sucked. They movie sucked. I have no idea why I thought the game would be good.

I would also have regret buying Kung-Fu Panda if I had actually had a choice in buying it(It came with my 360)

Universal Combat.

Never heard of it? Good. Bought it on a whim since my dad said he'd buy me a game for some reason I forget. Now, I don't touch a game unless I've read 40 awesome reviews, Played a demo that lasted longer then 5 minutes(cough)deadspace(cough), and at least one of my friends own it.

Surely people have bought games they regret more than Bioshock or Fable.

I mean, somewhere out there someone bought Doom for the Sega Saturn at full price, or Bus Simulator for full price... sure that's be more regrettable.

"Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King" on PS2. I bought it so my then girlfriend could play it - she's not a big gamer and even she thought it was one of the biggest mounds of stale excrement ever compiled. She hasn't studied game design, but she could pin point the failings of each turgid, complicated level and every crappy implementation of a clunky control system and stupid menu system.

After 45 minutes of "play"*, I put it back in the box. At least I managed to trade it the next weekend.

*it was actually more like slowly pushing drawing pins into my cheeks.
And not the ones on your face...

Lego Star Wars 2 was just awful. Got it for $13 and completely regret it. Going back a bit, to when Gamestop still sold N64 games, I had the choice between Super Mario 64 and Super Man 64. Guess which I chose.

X-blades. Heard some good things about it, gave it a shot. Wasnt worth the 60 bucks i payed for it. But i did get a free shirt out of it, and got 25 dollars for it when i traded it in for street fighter IV.

Dirge of Cerberus PS2
The Getaway PS2
Price of Persia (new one on 360)

3 of the worst games ever made PERIOD
PoP wasn't bad and The Getaway was great.
Getaway - Realism is good, however when you need to break you X button to make the cars go faster than walking speed, thats just crap. The gunplay wasnt to bad though.

PoP - Does Nero from DMC4 strike a serious resemblence to the Prince to anyone else. And they shouldnt have changed the character, may still be called the Prince but SoT trilogy Prince was the man

And even though i didnt buy them Dead of Alive 3 or 4 and Project Gothem Racing 3, i regret getting them.

They are a stain on my 360 collection, would trade them in. But even though they are still in the original packaging (still in plastic) they are worth about AU$7 each

GTA 3. What a bloody turd that was.
GTA3 was the best in my opinion.
Before they tried to give the game to much depth. Main character had no name, no dialog and no emotion. Plus there wasnt anything else to do apart from steal cars, kill people and do missions.

Some Jurassic Park game. Bought it because it used the built in 3D processor on an old AMD chip.

I'd have to say Time Shift. That royally sucked.

I bought Mass Effect for the PC, even though I didn't like it on the 360. Somehow, I thought it would make more sense with a mouse and keys. But it seemed that combat was still an exercise in counter-intuitive tedium; plus I guess I've gone some way to justifying EA's much-maligned DRM stance. Double fail.
Liar! It's not possible to dislike Mass Effect!

I concur, infact, by the time the credits rolled I began to suspect that I had just been bent over and raped by EA...

Still, the creativity of the 'penis monster makers' gave me more to enjoy than the game itself.

Final Fantasy 12. I just...can't play it, I liked it at first but it just kept getting worse the more I played.

Honorable mention goes to Braid. Don't get me wrong, I like the game but I just felt like it was too short to be worth 1200 points.
