let's see.
There's tabula rasa, wich was kinda fun for an hour or so but then got boring as hell, they completly botched it in my opinion (a hint to developers, don't fucking simplyfie your games)
And then there's pretty much every J-RPG EVER made.

FFVII and Ocarina of Time. Contraversial I know. All crappy games I've bought since the PSX era have been recycled into better games, so I don't have to regret it.

Star Wars: the Force Unleashed (PS3). Bought it with a HUGE discount, played the first 5 levels, sold it the following day. Then I bought Iron Man on Blu-ray. Woohoo!

I'd have to say Time Shift. That royally sucked.

I bought Mass Effect for the PC, even though I didn't like it on the 360. Somehow, I thought it would make more sense with a mouse and keys. But it seemed that combat was still an exercise in counter-intuitive tedium; plus I guess I've gone some way to justifying EA's much-maligned DRM stance. Double fail.
Liar! It's not possible to dislike Mass Effect!
Actually, I loved the dialogue sections, and the exploration elements and the narrative were enthralling. If only they hadn't ruined it with the shooting bits!

GTA4 and Fable 2. LAST time I buy anything from Lionhead or Rockstar without finding out about the games first.

25 to Life, bought it right after it came out and returned it the next day. From that day forward, I started listening to reviews and haven't encountered that problem since

Indeed... But is something half-perfect worth buying twice??
