I had My Little Pony as a kid. As a matter of fact, I actually bought it in the toy store myself.

I guess I didn't really understand why a guy couldn't play with a pink horse back then.

You mean to say that you understand now?
If you do, perhaps you understand less than you did back then.

As for the girliest thing I've ever done.. I have rather long hair? I tend to braid it? Then again, it's just a hairstyle.. Were vikings girly? The Germanic tribes who sacked Rome?

What defines 'girly'? What this particular generation feels is manly or not? Societal pressures, mingled with deluded parental advice and teenage insecurity?

If you like pink ponies, play with pink ponies. If some ass comes up to you and is too insecure to allow for another person who doesn't follow the norm.. Well, it isn't your manliness at risk there, mate.
What I meant was, in the land of elementary schoolers there's usually the traditional toys for boys and toys for girls. But as a child I could never really distinguish that boundary, I just saw a toy I liked and I played with it. I even wanted to play with a can of bug-spray back then because it had a funny cartoon of a bug on it.

I'm still watching cartoons to this day so concern for my manliness is hardly an issue...,though I don't think I'll be bringing up Evangelion during a date anytime soon.

I am a girl
No offense but, you are??
Nope I have male genitalia, but I said that to show how sexist this thread is
That's why the girls on this thread (including myself- my answer was grew a set of ovaries) all listed things that are female specific.

I once wore a bright pink neon tie. And looked good.

I also pretended to be gay for about a week to get in with a girl. It didn't work.

I think having a pair of ovaries, female anatomy in general and menstruating once a month would fall into the 'girly' category.

She might watch Evangelion too. In which case it's probably a pro.
But I know what you're saying. I don't agree, however. Being manly is to stand up for friends when they need you. Admitting your wrongs. Pushing on when others give up, and standing for what you believe in. To listen to others when no one else does. To not be afraid of what others might say, for you are a man. It's about how you act. How you stand in life, being reliable and all that.

Drinking beer and watching sports just means you drink beer and watch sports. Playing with cars and fighting means nothing either. They are actions. They don't prove anything (save for perhaps a lack of imagination and a fear of not belonging to a certain group).

I'm rather passionate about this, as I feel guys are being forced into a nasty stereotype. People confuse being manly and doing the things you like with having to act like men are expected to, without having to live up to the mature part. It's frustrating.

I have this lovely dance that me and my friends do, ocasionally.

Legend says that no man has ever tried it from fear of them being labeled as homos.

That sounds like a challenge that I'd gladly step up to (and probably fail miserablely at the dancing aspect of).

Well I let a girl back in high school put make up on me and fixed my hair (it use to be long) and I looked like a girl.
