What's the last game you bought for full price that didn't have cut scenes or dialogue scenes?

Uhhhhh.......

Half life 2?

Wow, that was like, 6 years ago? 5 years ago? Anyway, it was a crapload of years ago.
Tons of dialogue scenes in HL2, so it doesn't count.
Being able to look the other way, but still stuck in the same room until the talk is over, doesn't count as actual gameplay.

Don't you just mean arcade-style games?
It can be arcade ports, party games, pure multiplayer type games or even something like flower if it wasn't a cheap budget game.

This topic is confirming my thoughts that most of these sort of games will be retro throwbacks and budget games. The market doesn't see "pure" games as full priced products anymore.

I think you mean the industry, not the market. We don't know what the market thinks because the industry throws these things into pretty much every game, so the market has no opportunity to choose.

I guess it'd have to be Madden or Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Although now that I think about it, don't GH and RB technically have cutscenes?

Civilization V, maybe? Depends on whether you count the wonder movies as cut scenes or the diplomacy screen as dialogue, I guess.

Probably FIFA. Does that count? If we're saying no to sports games then it's going to be something going back to my Amiga days.

Metroid Prime? Portal 2? 3D Dot Game Heroes? Outland, at a much cheaper price. Those are the ones that come to mind.
