Hm...gameplaywise alot of games I own. When I get stuck I leave them and come back. Or Echochrome, then again I'm still trying to beat that game...most epic puzzle game ever.

LocoRoco took me literally 3 days to complete. In a 16 hour car ride with nothing but the psp you're bound to finish an addicting game like that.

I bought Spyro: Year of the Dragonfly when it came out, I still have it and it remains unbeaten to this day.

It took me a while to beat Assassin's Creed, I kept getting bored and moving on to Mass Effect.

Some games just have a lot of gameplay, have lots of little hidden bits that can keep a player occupied, and some are just hard to finish, regardless of content.

So what game took you forever to finish?

Mine was probably AC1, I used to get so frustrated because I could never find the miscellaneous events leading up to an assassination (like interrogations, etc.). Then I discovered viewpoints.
MetalGearSolid, it was years before I was capable of beating it because I started playing it when I was only little.

Over 100 hours to beat Dragon Quest VIII. The game is so punishing that grinding is almost mandatory.

13 years to finally beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

That was the greatest victory of all time.
I salute you sir.

For me probably 5 years on FFVII. got it in '95 when I was 7 and had no idea about stats or anything I just spam attacked everything. Worked until I reached the demon wall then failed over and over. Left it til I was older.

There was an end to tetris?

The longest single campaign play I ever experienced was probably a medieval 2 campaign. It took me weeks of play with several hours and a lot of sessions of play.

GTA IV. I started playing it... got about halfway through until I stumbled on some extremely pain in the ass mission that I tried like 20 times and couldn't finish, so I figured to hell with it and left it there. Six months later I was bored, decided to try it and somehow did it on my first try, finished it after that.

Took me about one year to finish Final Fantasy VII. Kept getting stuck, frustrated and stopped playing. Then waited a month and started back up again.
This, as well as Final Fantasy IIV. Actually, I haven't beaten Final Fantasy IIV, among all the accidentally rewriting files in the blink of an eye and endless dungeons.
Are you trying to say Final Fantasy III? With Roman Numerals you can only ever have one character before another to denote (x) less than (y). So in this case IIV would translate to either 1,1,5 or 1,4. III translates to 3.

On topic: I still haven't finished Metroid Prime. I couldn't beat the final boss when you had to use the pool of nuke-juice to power your gun. I couldn't see the enemies even with the visor on!
