the story was also another gta cliche

1)Protaganist: hey, I just came back/came here looking for a better life!

2)friend/relative: hey, I/a friend of mine has some jobs for you

3)protaganist: I guess everything is going to be alright

4)person protaganist is working for: I have no more use for you, so I am going to have you assassinated/driven out of town

5)*something tragic happens/a loved one or relative is killed*

6)protaganist: I swear to get revenge on the person who did this

7)*protaganist gets revenge*

repeat steps 2 through 7 as needed
Why are these games popular again?
simple, it's because... ummm...

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, sporadic playthroughs across 9 years. I kept on going back becuase it is suppose to be a perfect 9001/10 but I gave up completely a few months ago.

ff8 i was borrowing it from a friend and played until the second disc before a gave up on the terrible magic system. why must magic cost mp and gill? that's total bull shit!
It doesn't cost MP or Gil, you just have to draw it from enemies first, which makes it a bit of a grind within a grind.

It took an entire blinded childhood to realise that Sonic's recent years weren't doing him kindly.

I actually suffered most of the way before Shadow the Hedgehog before realizing that things weren't going to improve.

I always stick to a game for aslong as it holds. Longest though I can't even remember, it was a game on the PS2 with some squirrelmonkeything not unlike Ratchet, and he was infected with something that slowly drained his health so you had to be quite fast at all times, you spend all the time finding some girl or getting revenge at someone I can't even remember but I remember the ending. I played for so long and lost so many lives through cheap, frustrating deaths and at the end of it all your character gets chained to a rock and left to rot..

Well I played though the Half Life games and decided I hated them. Though I decided that pretty early on and just played it hoping it would improve...so I guess that doesn't count.

20 minutes to realize that some pirate game nobody has ever heard of was boring, repetitive and and had very unintuitive level design.

It wouldn't happen to be "Legend of the Black Buccaneer (or something" for PS2, would it? I swear, I see that in bargain bins everywhere, so it must be bad.

Oblivion here, too. I tried to like it, but that was when I started realizing how much I dislike RPG's with their levels, their wolves dropping potions, and their repetitive races and medieval setting. The combat, I thought, also sucked.

Same with Bioshock.
I don't see what was wrong with Bioshock's medieval setting. [/sarcasm]

I Beleive I got up to the level in Ultimate Spiderman for DS where you are Venom and your in the sewer (after fighting that electric guy). I had gotten so good at the moves I was basically picking how I wanted to kill each enemy and timing myself on some levels. I tried that lvel a counted 130-133.5 times and then took out the game, walked out to my backyard put it on the table, when inside got a match and just burned that shit.

Stranglehold. I played that game for like an hour and finally decided that it sucked. In my defense the hour did feel like several hours due to how boring it was, and how shitty the damn aiming was............................fuck that game.

Megaman X7, I didn't actually want this game, I got it for christmas 2 years ago because my mom couldn't find Okami.
Anyways, I kept trying to convince myself that it was good but really the targetting, and controls were bad in the 2d sections and almost unbearable in the 3d sections, Also the acting is atrocious, the story is really lame and doesn't really go anywhere. and all the bosses take WAAY too much damage. The end boss is particularly guilty of this, He literally takes over an hour to beat! and thats if you can get to him! The final stage is like 4 hours long, hellishly hard, they make you fight all the previous bosses, you cant save in between, only die and respawn at the nearest checkpoint! I literally had to leave my playstation on all day to beat the shitty game!
and when I finally beat Sigma, all I got was some shity ending that I can't even remember and I'm just sitting here like;
"well, that sucked."
