hours to days....i'm infamous for doing so when driving home from work. I know the drive so well including side streets that i run on auto pilot.....scary to think about. One minute I'm in Santa Ana and the next in Moreno Valley a good 50 + miles and don't know how i got there......

(and LOOOOL psychiatrist said there's a small chance that it's linked to depression and one day i might just refuse to leave "my world" .. what a tool)
That's hilarious.

For me, it would be hours. I always get interrupted.
my boyfriend interrupts me all the time. i told him to if he's trying to talk to me but most of the time he wants me there and not in my own mind.....

i can be lost for any amount of time as long as nobody disturbs me. I can also space out randomly doing things like ordering food. I was spaced out for five minutes just staring at the cash register.
ever done that while working said cash register? I did once middle of my shift exhausted....

It can last as long as I'm alone. As soon as I hear a human voice I get dragged out of my world, back into this dystopia we call earth.
I am jealous of people like you and IdealistCommi I have to physically be shaken and slapped with my name repeated til I snap out of it. I don't hear anything when I go into daydream world. By the time I wake up from it my face will be sore and my arms will hurt and I get minor whiplash which tells you how out of it I go. If left to my own, I will wake up myself when I'm done with my thought and its tangents...

Not exactly. But I have done it at work, for about 2-3 hours. I came back and all my work was done o_O

i tend to be prone to daydreaming for a few days after my insomnia kicks in.

the longest i have daydreamed for is around 6 or 7 hours consecutively.

A couple hours, however if I was somehow given the chance, I could go all day, especially since my daydreaming and thinking is wat stops me from going to sleep, so I could probably stay awake all night thinking, unless I fall asleep from my thoughts, and my thoughts seep into my dreams.

However, I do daydream alot, so you could say all the time.

Let me think about this...

About a couple of hours, nothing past a day.

I could go for a few days in my own world. Spend most of my time there, anyway. A good song for this might be Solitary Shell by Dream Theater, no?

Hours, family and friends know to snap their fingers or shake me a little to get my attention back.

As long as i'm walking, listening to music or just being alone. When i go hiking it's my default mode, i'll probably end up with a broken limb one of these days. The longest must have been when i hiked for a week and only being pulled back to reality by my dad for about 3 minutes every hour. Or does it only count if it's straight?
yeah lol .. only straight hours

and hell yeah ... if music is involved .. can't remember how many times i left the house and in the blink of an eye a walk that should've been 3+ hours is done .. and i don't even remember the trek
Then it would probably be when i pulled an all-nighter to restore my normal sleep/wake cycle. I started walking 4am and came home 2 pm. I remember were i went and how it looked though, mostly.

Same here. I can ignore anything anybody says until my name comes to the conversation. Until then I'll have fantasies of giant robots fighting or me fighting off demons with a giant sword and getting laid as a reward.
