What's the longest you've gone from buying/getting a game to playing it?

I got Legend of Zelda during lent and I had given up videos games, so I had to wait about a month to play it.

About 6 months. I got my 360 and it came with 4 games. One of them was a fifa game that i had no desire to play, but decided to try after 6 months. Another was some harry potter game that I never even opened.

I had to wait a year to play guild wars. THis was back in the days when i didn't fully understand the concept of an mmo. My internet was shit as well as my computer so I had to wait till the next christmas when my uncle bought me a pc and fixed my internet. It nearly drove me insane. Every day i'd just stare at the box art and re-read the manual. :0

I don't think I have any, I usually go home right after that, looking at the box, the manual, everything many, many times, and then booting it up as soon as I arrive home.

Let me search from the depths of my memory...nope.

Can't beat yours, but when I got Guitar Hero 2, I brought it back to a broken PS2. After a couple months, we replaced it with a PS3, and I couldn't use the guitar controller, so I relearned Guitar Hero on a hand controller. Now, that talent is entirely obsolete. Guitar Hero has been a bit of a roller coaster.

About 2 weeks. My parents got me the SNES bundled with Super Mario World 2 weeks before Christmas. They put it in my room, but I wasn't allowed to open the box. Those 2 weeks seemed to last forever, I just remember reading and absorbing everything printed on that box.

About 6 months for Majora's Mask. I bought it without realising you needed that expansion pack thing. Was in college so I couldn't afford it. The box drove me mad I think. Just sitting there. So new. So shiny. Started to sniff the manual and salivate aswell. Good times.

The time is racking up for me not playing NFS Shift since I got it. I thinks it's gone 2 weeks not played so far.

I bought Prince of Persia (the PS3 one) the same time I bought DMC4. That was maybe 2 years ago? Well I haven't got round to playing it yet. Truth be told I completely forgot I owned it and discovered it around a year and some months later. Now I have a new television I suppose I should throw it on ^_^

I also acquired the new Ratchet and Clank game this christmas and have yet to get round to playing it and it's killing me. I've had so many other commitments and I'm back at college next week which means coursework has to be handed in and revision for Bio Mod 4 begins. I am beginning to loathe that place.

I bought Deus Ex very cheap, at what is the Brazilian equivalent of a magic dollar store, figuring that it was worth it even if my computer couldn't run it, because eventually I ought to own a computer capable of playing it. My computer fried and I had to get a new, better one at the end of that year. So, I'd say nine, ten months.

Also I think I had Yahtzee's Days trilogy for maybe two years on my computer before I actually played it. Although I have several free games in a similar situation, so it may not count.

I also currently have several games I have bought and downloaded and not played, because due to time constraints I only play my indie/classic PC games when I don't have a 360 game to play. The list currently includes Fallout, Fallout 2 and Myst.

Half Life: Blue Shift -- I bought it in May of 2002, I still have not played it. Granted it is technically an expansion, but it has been 7 years, 7 months, and random days. :) WIN?

Also, I bought Age of Conan on release day and never installed it. (May 20, 2008 release)
