I used to play quite a bit of ladder WC3:TFT with a couple of friends. Most of the guys we went up against were massive stoners.

Substituted Throne for Cones.... and Frozen Cones was born.

I've answered this a few times now, but eh.

Bathory = Band that I really enjoy.
Graveland = Another band I really enjoy.
2 = I changed up my email a little while ago, so I created a new Escapist profile. Just put the 2 on the end to signify that. My original profile would still be floating around I guess, unless the mods have banned it.

That simple really. I used BathorysGraveland for a lot of sites and stuff. It's easy to remember/recognise and both bands are among my favourites. So it makes sense.

My original username was EcoEclipse, which finds its origins in a roleplaying thread between a few friends on Gaia Online waaaaaaaaaaay back in, like, 2006 or something. I'd named my character "Eco," which in turn was swiped straight out of the Jak and Daxter games. The friend who was I-guess-DM'ing the thread affixed "Eclipse" as a surname; I don't actually know why. But it stuck, and since then all my accounts were EcoEclipse.

Until a few months ago.

Any of you who listen to the CommuniCast might remember me being on, what, episode three? Anyway, both Fappy and Daystar mispronounced it as "echo," which is something not even close to new. A few weeks later I was like, "y'know, my username kind of su~cks."

So I changed it to The_Echo, which I think not only sounds better, but looks aesthetically better and won't be mispronounced nearly as often. (On the other hand, I no longer have my name on the community signatures background...)

Peter Merkin was my favourite character from Hemingway's A Farewell to Arms, and she first appeared on page 69, so I went with that. And yes, it absolutely was page 69--she just wasn't mentioned by name until a little later. Unsurprisingly, that, too, is among my favourite examples of literary sleight of hand.

That can only be explained in a cryptic tale of Dan Brown proportions.

I really like the original Playstation.

I'll give you a moment to mop up your splattered brains.

In 3.5 D&D there was a prestige class called the Malconvoker. They were good aligned spell casters who summoned demons and evil stuff to fight evil. I really liked the idea of the class and it was something that I was sure no one was going to have as a user name.

It's a modern nickname of the Saika-Ikki, one of the Ikkō-ikki sects of Japan in the Sengoku era. They were known for their gun-making, the use of the arquebus (primitive muzzle-loaded rifle), and for their rebellion against Nobunaga Oda. The fact they survived a siege by Nobunaga Oda (Mr. Kill 'Em All With Fire himself) and then Hideyoshi Toyotomi says a lot.

The exact phrase "Saika Renegades" is a Koei creation, so far as I know.

I just wanted to pick something that I though sounded neat, and wasn't likely to be taken. Sure enough, the only place it has been taken so far has been Youtube. It was completely random, I just though Delta sounded kind of cool, and I started brainstorming words that I thought might go well with it, and when I came to Edge, I thought it was perfect. Nowadays, I usually use that as my username, and if it is taken, I will still try to somehow incorporate Delta in, preferably as the prefix part of the name.

Well, I had to settle down and get a real job some day, so I added a title to seem more desirable to employers. Planet eating is just a weekend hobby for me these days.

It was a nickname given to me by a girl I used to have a massive crush on. I mostly kept it because it's memorable and I can't be arsed coming up with anything else. Back in t'day I used to register to places using my real name. [small]And before that, something Sonic related.[/small]

It doesn't really mean anything, but there is a (uninteresting) story behind it.

Back in the old times (1998-ish) there was a place called the Connect'r in my home town, which was essentially a games store which also offered a small lan network you could use for about $2.50 per hour. Internet was not yet widespread, so few people actually had a connection. And, you know, dial-up.

So the Connect'r lan was in many ways the best way for my friends and me to play mp. In fact, I had my first experiencs with mp with more than two people there, playing Starcraft, Unreal, Half-Life and Rainbow Six. I didn't have a fixed username yet back then, usually just picking something different every time we went to play.

This one time, the stereo was playing a song by Limp Bizkit. I thought I'd just go with that but because I felt like copying the name of a band is kinda lame, I changed it to Chimp Nitwitz.

The name stuck and I used it for almost a decade, after which I shortened it to Chimpzy.

I am in fact a sentient, hive-minded swarm of 93 obese fish who lead an active internet life.

Nah, I'm just messin'.

Carp's a play on my name, big and fat because I thought "big fat carp" sounded funny, and '93 is my birth year.

No idea where the Wonder part came from but Feras Vahnn was my first D&D character and I ended up using it for quite a lot of things, no idea why I kept it, just liked it I suppose.

Had a character named Cereb in wow (was a name I used from a old D&D character I played a lot). Sworded my account, came back with the money I made. BAM.

I saw that one episode of Venture Bros. with the Monarch's "dreaded candiru" monologue, I thought it was funny, and I needed a screen name for something at the time, so I took that and stuck numbers on the end. I've had a few others since then, but I mainly use this one out of habit.
