My cellphone. I had it in my hands while typing an SMS, when suddenly I got called. I was so startled that I dropped the phone out of my hands and down the stairs. Good thing was that it was an old style Nokia brick, not a smartphone, so the damage was minimal.

I don't get many calls on it since it's mainly my emergency phone, so I really wasn't expecting it. I also get startled easily if I get distracted, since I tend to shut off the outside world when concentrating. People that know me know not to sneak up on me since my reaction can be a little extreme if I get startled by someone suddenly standing behind me or talking at me.

I get startled all the time. You know when the apocolypse was supposed to happen? I didn't believe it, but around the time it was meant to happen the local music venue started playing loud angelic music. Not gonna lie, it scared me. But that wasn't really startled so much as shitting myself.
Similar thing happened to me. About 3pm I started hearing this realy creepy sounding music coming closer. I had no idea what it was but it was really starting to scare me. Turned out to be an ice cream van -_-"

A mouse, I think. I love the little buggers (well, as pets), but when one raced by in front of my feet while I was locking the door in a dark storage room, it gave my quite a startle. Damn ninjas.

Yeah. Crawling under cars when a light boom goes off can be kind of embarrassing. Especially when you know its coming.
Well, considering your old career, that's pretty understandable.

A ballpoint pen.

Was working is class and my mate touched my arm with it. Jumped so hard I fell out of my chair. Mate couldn't stop laughing; teacher was not impressed.

A porcelain doll. I don't like them, not one bit. I was at a cousins house sleeping over and his sister had one in her room that looked like it was staring right into the room I was staying in. I got freaked out and said fuck it and moved to the couch. That morning I wake up and they had placed the porcelain doll on the end table three feet from my face. I squealed, jumped and fell off the couch. That was embarrassing.

I once looked through my refractor telescope *gets funny look* What?

And anyway, there was a spider on lens, and it scared the shit out of me. Had to get my dad to kill it.

I once (very badly) put up a book shelf, which fell down less than three days later. This happened in the early hours of the morning causing me to jump out of bed shouting 'what are doing?!' to what i thought was a burglar coming in through the window. On a plus note, when clearing up the books, I found £40 I had hidden inside one of them and previously forgotten about!

I once stared into my infra-red camera, saw my face is the dark and screamed 'AH!!! I'm SO startled!". Oh, wait, that was Randy.
Nope, I can't remember myself having a similar experience.
The reason for that is most likely because I've suppressed the event from my memories.

While I was in the shower my mom knocked on the door really loudly. I can't remember why, but that's not important. Anyway, it made me jump so bad.

Well, one time my girlfriend came up behind me and put her hand on my shoulder and said "Hey." She drove over without my knowing and came inside, and to my knowledge I was alone. When I felt her touch my shoulder I jumped in my chair, yelled "Holy shit" in about the least masculine manner you can imagine, cracked my knee on my desk from my initial jolt, and then squealed in pain on the spot. Needless to say she laughed for a good 5 or 10 minutes. To this day she has not let me live that down.

I was startled by a door opening in one of the Silent Hill games, I was so absorbed in the game and when I opened the door it made a loud creaking noise that made me jump.

My watch ticking.
It's been broken for a week or so, I nudge my desk while getting up - it moves the magnet that I'd forgotten about that had broken it and all of a sudden I'm like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MAGIC?!

Two guys pops around the corner of the house when I enter it through the back door. I was startle since most people would of knock at the front door although the gate was already open when I went through. Anyway the two guys were just salesman which they wanted to hand my dad this cooking catalogue. In hindsight it was kind of funny but it still startle me.
