Ball in a cup.

Not kidding. Ever since that Family Guy joke, I've seen kids talking about Ball in a cup and even fucking playing with Ball in a cup. Because evidently Ball in a cup is somehow hilarious, no matter how many times you say it.
I love that game. My friends play with those while camping, we see how many we can get in a row. The record is 47.
And yes, we played with it before that annoying Family Guy thing came along.
I played it at this old-ass school we went to on a field trip back in 3rd grade. I could never get it in the cup.

..snip McGyver paperclip image..
It's like they didn't even try.
That's actually quite awesome. I think that is a great novelty item.
Go to a office store they have these novelty toys in the hundreds in a single box under 10bucks!

Those be Mini-Mates, not very popular but have a foot in buisness and are not going away. Like LEGO's but have pieces that come off like "Armor" and are liked for articulation.

My brother used to collect them.
Thank you for that. I was having a terrible time looking up "Sweeny Todd bear thing toy".

Also, welcome to the Escapist. Glad to have you aboard.
I hope you know... The Bear isn't called a Mini-Mate. I feel like a retard if you knew that.
I was assuming that the Sweeny Todd thing was a Mini-Mate. The bear, I would guess, is the company's mascot or something. Am I close? Also, don't feel like a retard.

Sweeney todd legos anyone
I don't believe you that those are Legos. Some sort of knock off, maybe, but not my dear beloved Legos.
Those are actually Bearbrix. They butchered Wall-E merchandise with them too, making Eve in the form of a bear.

Harry potter

seriously, those books went downhill after the second (and yes, i read all of them (the 4th was decent))

As for the harry potter movies... The moment they put the kids in plain clothes.

Also.

Anything to do with twinkly vampires. That shit is a straight-up insult to good vampire lore/stories/books/movies.

That person who wrote them should be shot. No. Better, ripped apart and burned, seriously, how can you rip apart a creature that can do half the shit they are depicted as doing in her books? And what happened to a stake, or silver?

I suppose that I should thank the Internet as a whole for preserving minutia from my childhood in such a pristine state that no nostalgia, no matter how powerful that demon may be, can ever corrupt my memories of it. I can also thank Wikipedia specifically for this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubik,_the_Amazing_Cube
If you teenagers and 20-somethings bemoan the lack of originality and general creative bankruptcy of the modern world, you might be surprised to learn that it was much worse in the 1980s. Even if they had more 'fresh' ideas at their disposal, they had no understanding of how to use them correctly.
Of course, there were a few flukes here and there such as this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gummi_Bears
Before I forget the point of this thread, here is the most peculiar item made from a TV show that I have seen:

i think anything High school musical is possibly the worst things sold (I hate that francise with a sniper in a clocktower like passion) it has however been outdone by another sickening francise, Hannah Montana, all her games, movies knock offs and action figures has to make this poll but worst of all she now has an autobiography, the girl is like 16 WTF.

Possibly the short lived "Black T-Top" Pontiac Trans Am, complete with the KITT body kit.

Apparently the Trans Am Knight Rider edition had to be recalled, because fans of the show were buying them and trying to jump over rivers and gorges, just like in the TV series.

By the time the idiotic drivers realised that the turbo-boost button was only a cosmetic feature and didn't do anything, it was too late to avoid the inevitable, hilarious crash.

I don't know how much truth there is in this, it could just be an urban legend (I read about it on the internet), but I believe there are people stupid and gullible enough to have done this, if it is true.
