Shooting my friends copy of The Scarlet Letter with his Dad's .45. It was an accident, I speak the truth.
This may be an accident, but I commend you for doing such a great deed.

Words hold no precedence in how much I hate that book.
I don't think you know what those words mean.
To commend: to present, mention, or praise as worthy of confidence, notice, kindness

Precedence: to precede (to exist) in order of importance.

Or in otherwords, "I praise you for doing such a great deed; no words, of any importance, exist to describe how much I hate that book."

I don't think YOU know what those words mean. lol.
prec⋅e⋅dence
?noun
1. act or fact of preceding.
2. the right to precede in order, rank, or importance; priority.
3. the fact of preceding in time; antedating.
4. the right to precede others in ceremonies or social formalities.
5. the order to be observed in ceremonies by persons of different ranks, as by diplomatic protocol.

You simply cannot use the word precedence there. None of the definitions makes sense. Precedence does not mean exist. I know what those words mean. You do not.

Err dumbest thing I ever did was got insanely hammered, kicked this big group of bushes at my mate's place and my shoe flew off into the greenery. I then deduced that the bush must be sentient to take my shoe, fought with it for a while and jumped in to try and retrieve my shoe. This was in front of about 20 of my friends and of them 5 were sober enough to remember the incident.
But did you get the shoe back?
That I did. No uppity shrubbery was going to keep it

Jumping from a tree, onto an exercise trampoline, and then being catapulted into the woodpile. I split my foot open, and couldn't wear a shoe on that foot for 4 months.

Spraining my back by jumping down a staircase and hitting my head on a plaster overhang, then falling about 6 feet onto the corner of a (thankfully padded) step. Was out of school for the next day, and when we moved, there was still a dent in the plaster overhang where my head hit.

To precede means to exist. Precedence means the "act of preceding". Thus, Precedence means the "act of existing". Precedence DOES mean to exist, and I can use that word! lol.
Getting off topic but...

You are wrong. To precede does not mean to exist, it means to be before something. What you said was "words hold no to be before something in how much I...". Simply put, precedence is not the word for the job. It does not mean to exist, it means to be before something.

Alright, I disagree, and, being curious, I looked up other meaning for precedence, and I know I'm right, but seeing as how this thread's just a waste...
And I know I'm right but this conversation leads nowhere. I also agree to disagree (....wait a minute....)
