Celebrating my sheer stupidity for buying a mint copy of Border Down Limited Edition on the Dreamcast for £129/ $250USD, which is actually a good offer considering it's selling for up to £170, I'd like to ask how much everyone else has spent on a single game/ gaming item.

I guess you could include game consoles (say if they're vintage ones) but I'd like to see if anyone else out there is an obsessive collector like me?

Oh, also, other lavish spendings of mine includes buying the Tenchu: Stealth Assassins and Parodius 2: Fantastic Journeys for £100 each, Panzer Dragoon Saga (PAL) for about £75 and the Monkey Island Bounty Pack for £120.

Fell free to spam me for wasting money on crap. I deserve it. But please include yours also.

I never heard of Border Down until now. I will say that is a damn fine looking game. Dreamcast was such a great console. $250 though, the only time I paid close to that much for a game was Steel Battalion. I would like to bash your decision but I respect owners of fine software. Good Purchase.

I spent £70 on the first Turok game on the N64 when it was originally released.

Other than that all normal purchases.... sort of.

I remember when certain SNES games would retail close to $100.
Can't say that I ever bought one at a young tender age, but I'm sure there were some parents that did.

I dished out $1200 bucks on a new high end gaming PC just to play Crysis. That among other things though.

heh another Steel Battalion buyer here. It was pretty cool. Felt like a bit of a waste though considering there was no other use for the controller. Just that one game and later to justify the purchase I bought the online version. It entertained me for a while.

I recently got a really big tv. Thinking of getting component cables for xbox and trying my old SB on this tv.

I will never make such a purchase ever again.

I'll admit to being fanboyish enough to drop $125 on the Halo 3 Legendary Edition. I politely ask that no one judge me solely on that basis.

I plan on dropping big bucks for Rock Band, and that would be the most that I've spent on a game. But it will all be worth it when I put on my Dee Snyder wig and stuff a large sock down the front of my pants. The fans (old people that I pull from all corners of my apartment complex) will go wild with desire as they fall under the spell of my magical performances. Money well spent.

Consider yourself judged... Actually I waited in line for a copy of Halo, and then turned around to sell it back to the store a day later. I guess I can forgive you.

I once payed 90,000 won for a copy of Medieval:TW II and all I got for it was a pewter figurine and some "making of" video. Game was worth it though, I've played it more than most other games to date.

$80 (or was it $90?) for GH3. I can't think of anything I spent more on, and I'm not even certain about that.

Don't you bash PSO on these forums or anywhere else! >: (

Presumably you couldn't play it online though? If you can't play the game multiplayer then half the fun is missing. Still, this is a Sonic Team game.

I looked up that Steel Battalion. Yeah, that arcade stick looks cool.

You don't know a good shmup until you've played Under Defeat. They made Border Down just before this. The members of the game company (G.Rev) quit their jobs at Taito and formed the company specifically to make Border Down.

I'm a great admirer of great video games. And what else can I spent my money on? some overpriced painting that no-one even looks at?

I've been tempted to buy suikoden 2 which goes for huge amounts of money, but I haven't been able to convince myself.
A very overrated game my friends. It's not terrible, but it's far from the best RPG. You won't be missing too much if you don't buy. I suspect the reason why it's got such great scores on Amazon is because they're written by people trying to sell their copy.

Wait to download an emulator/ rom version (try before you buy).

I got the Legendary Edition for Halo 3, which I guess qualifies as my most expensive video game. (That I also got the Limited Edition in a moment of weakness didn't help.)

The reason the price didn't faze me, however, is the staggering quantity of hard-earned luchre dropped on Warhammer 40,000... (probably $2000 just on my Tau, including models and books, though that's over a three-year period.)
