What's the one thing you've done you regret every day...

I threw a rock at empty space and then my best friend ran into it in mid-air and then i hid under a car which someone turned on and then went backwards and could have run me over.

Also i thought my pet lorikeet would like to go scuba diving so i filled a bathtub and put her swimming for like 20 seconds, i thought she was dying so i gave her CPR crushing her lungs horribly... she was gawking and in pain.

I was ten years old didnt know any better and cried about it very often till i was 13ish.

Though the method was amusing: I smothered her with a large, stuffed, red furred hippo.
But, yes, I regret the fact I tried to kill her every time I see her... which is every day.

Wait, just to clarify, do you regret you DIDN'T kill her, or that you tried to. Because it would most certainly be the former in my case.

Hmm, I guess the worst I've done is browsing Encyclopaedia Dramatica.

I saw the most horrific act of cruelty I've ever witnessed on that site. I feel sick every time I think about it.

I'm only 20, though, so I still have plenty of time to do something I'll really regret.

Breaking up with a certain girlfriend.

It's so weird. We only dated for... 5 months or so. I've had other girlfriends since, one of them being a 3 year relationship.

I broke up... because I was scared. I was 16, and had never been with a girl, and she was coming to visit me. Before that, we had both been living at an "efterskole"(a danish concept... It's like a borderschool, but only in that you live there. It's a long explanation), so she'd never been in my home. As it got closer to that day, I was getting more and more scared... In the end, I texted her(I'm a jerk, I know) and said that I didn't think she should come, and in fact, I didn't think she should ever come.
I was very much into her.

As I said, I have had other relationships since, one of them pretty long. And yet, I still regret breaking up with this girl. I guess it's just the thought of "where could it have gone?" I don't know how much I cared for her. I'm not sure if her loved her. But I'm certain I could have grown to.
Meh. I'll never know. And not a day goes by I don't regret it. Strange.

I subscribe to the school of thought that says if you're happy with your current situation in its entirety, you should have no regrets.
Sure I messed up a lot and I made stupid choices, but they're all part of where I am now and I like where I am. Could it be better? I don't know. I'm 100% sure though that it could be worse.

All the what-if scenarios about what my life could be like aren't me. My favorite line from Max Payne II says it all: "The illusion comes afterwards, when you ask 'Why me?' and 'What if?'. When you look back and see the branches, like a pruned bonsai tree, or forked lightning. If you had done something differently, it wouldn't be you, it would be someone else looking back, asking a different set of questions."

I dunno. I've done plenty of stupid shit, but it's always worked out for the better in the end.

I got expelled, I made new friends.
I broke my ankle, I got closer to my best friend.

So I guess I don't have any regrets.

And iv'e done, seen and recieved things I won't be spewing over the internet. And yeah, im off the "Everything that's happened has made me who I am" crowd, not that I use that as an excuse.

But If I had to chose something I regret I guess it's the fact that my woman thinks im a nice guy, when I am in fact a terrible person.
