What Is the scariest game to you
i Found that FEAR was incredibly scary with the atmosphere and silent build-ups.
and that FEAR2 made me jump, but it was not scary

The Floormasters and Wallmasters from the Zelda games were scary. Other than nothing has scared me.

Resident Evil 4 could be scary at times but the problem is I never really get scared by games anymore. I guess Doom 3 was the scariest cuz I played it once when I was like 12 and I couldn't play it again for a week since I was too shit-pants terrified. Then after that I could not play it in the dark at all. But that was really the game that desensitized me to horror. lol

.The most terrifying part was when Satan himself started talking to you. I suppose.

Doom 3 was pretty scary.
When I was 10 years old.
But now I've torn it to pieces in the console, and no fear for it exists any more. I actually tore it up so much, I played it through legitimately! Because, well, I sucked at it really.

COD: World at War Nazi Zombies, spin around and ZBAM! zombo in your face. Especially in later levels when you've got the Horde approaching and you're stuck with leety 12 year olds that don't shut up.

I don't find horror games scary.
Horror movies are frightening because they're on a non-interactive medium where you experience what the characters are experiencing.
But with horror games you have control so it just does have the same effect.

This should be in the games forum.

F.E.A.R. is startling, and sometimes a little creepy... outright scary, it didn't do it for me. Same as Dead Space really and Doom 3 also had a few moments. There was a game, I do not recall its name and it was set in an old mantion, written by a novel writer and very scary.

That game wasn't scary at all mainly because you knew exactly when you were safe and when you weren't. The music always changed when enemies were near.
Great game, very eerie to play, but not really scary to play.
Now Silent Hill, or Eternal Darkness...those will mess with your mind.

Fatal Frame, now thats a scary game to play, also silent hill 1&2 they nailed the horror genre.
FEAR got me the first few times you see the ghost/spectre thingies that die in 1 shot (enemies from final lvl's). DOOM3 was a lol-fest as u go in a room, lights dim, monsters die via chainsaw or rocket launcher, lights go back on, enter another room and repeat. (and to think they added the chainsaw last minute as a comedy weapon, i was ninja with that)

WARNING, DONT PLAY FATAL FRAME DRUNK, WILL INCUR FITS OF DEFENSIVE DESTRUCTION TO NEARBY OBJECTS.

[edit] Fatal Frame is the game where you have to take pics of ghosts, some screwed up cutscenes as well.
