What's the silliest motto you've heard in a game store?

My cousin who is 9 bought Hitman Blood Money and nobody asked, he is 10.
"Roll up, roll up. See the amazing aging kid!"

EDIT: ninjas, they always get me...
Sorry he was thrown out of the circus, he got too old too fast.

He was 9 when he bought the game, now he is ten.

I'm 14 and I went to a local game store to buy GTA IV. I'm going to try to write his exact words here:
Store clerk: "How old are you?"
Me: "14."
Store clerk: "I can sell you this game if you promise me something."
Me: "(*Finding his response odd*)Okay."
Store clerk: "Promise me you won't kill anyone."

Needless to say I never bought any games there again, but it kind of makes me wonder.

Please, please for the love all things tell me the clerk was joking with you.

^ Beat me to it...

Huh, the only 2 games you don't get to buy if you are under 18 in sweden (gamestop), is GTA:SA and Doom. My dad called once and asked. No one even bothers with the little age sticker

"You, Happier."

Best Buy's slogan of choice, and the crass blatant materialism is off-putting. (on the other hand, I own stock in Best Buy, so I hope it works for them!)

Little anecdote: I went to GAME one time to get Mass Effect, a 12+ in England. So, I have to bring my passport, to show I'm 14, so, I pick the game up, give the man his money, but he says: 'oh, sorry, can't do that'.
'Why not?' I respond.
'IF OVER PG, ASK FOR ID!'
They ask that to everyone. People who have beards get asked this for over 12+ games. Which I think is silly. What about you people?
I live in England and my game shop of choice is GAME. I constantly buy games there and they have never asked me ONCE for ID. Im 15 and have got away with getting 18's there. Maybe the guy at the counter just wanted to be a dick.

I do have the same problems at Cinemas though, whenever I want to see a 15 they always ask 'do you have ID?'

'Im 15 how the fuck do I get ID...'

'Passport'

Those BASTARDS expect me to bring a PASSPORT to a CINEMA. Thats when you know 'Health and Safety' and 'Censorship' have gone too far...

Well one time I was renting something at rogers, but I accedently gave the cashier my blockbuster card. His words were "That is for the enemy and is burnt to the touch" I'm not kidding that's exactley what he said. Now he could have just been being his usual weird self or the store could tell it's employies to say that. f it's the second...well that's just weird.

1) The theater I work at has "show us your picture to see ours" for our carding motto. Basically meaning that you need a valid picture ID to see an R rated movie.

2) Those questioning the carding policy, it's the law. I actually had someone ask me about this as they thought I was refusing them service by not letting them go see an R rated movie because they were under 17. I told them that they may see it like that, but I see it as me not getting a fine for the theater and myself fired. I do not want to lose my job because one person wants to go see a movie that might not be appropriate for them. They could've just brought in a parent/guardian to sign them in, and that would've been that.

3) Personally, I don't understand the rating system for anything, but I am learning. Instead of just being angry that you can't get what you want, find out why they aren't letting you get it.

Why didn't you buy games there any more?! Id buy all my games there from then on because that guy was awesome.

I'm 19 and got IDed for a 15 by a manager just because she was training a girl who was 18 and clearly younger than me. Stayed around and talked to the girl and she said it was weird aswell but whatever. Went back with ID and bought Hitman instead just to show I was 18. (good game aswell)
