I wished to have a secret name on the escapist, a name which I had nowhere else, so I thought for a few minutes and this name came to mind...
lol your name causes my grammar nazi tendencies to flare up >:D
How dare I? I can't possibly survive being a grammar nazi, when I, THE grammar nazi over all grammar nazis, misspelled a letter too few, in unintelligent. *Gasps*. Do I have any other misspellings in my name, master? Like for example, is that ''a'' supposed to be ''an''? (I'm actually doomed to have a misspelling there, I just know it.)

Well... now I can say that my username is not only witty, but correct ^^

My first username was rather simple, just my initials and part of my last name. After spending some time on the Escapist and seeing more original names I decided I needed one of my own, something that really defined me. I fancy wolves, and have been considered to be a bit of a lone wolf. Also having an interest in Asian cultures and languages, I decided to find a suitable translation for lone wolf. My search lead me to the Japanese word for wolf, which is okami (but with a long "o," hence "Ookami"). Sadly, both variations were already in use. So I extended my search for the "lone" bit. I stumbled across Hikikomori on Wikipedia. It's much deeper than just lone or loner and was very fitting for me at the time. Thus, Hikikomori Ookami was born and I have used variations of the name since then.

The story behind my username is simply this:

It's partly a reference to a quote by Shelton Meyer about his favorite funny animal used in an interview in Amazing Heroes #129 and partly a pun based upon the then new (so far as I knew) fandom popping up around funny animals and the fact that, while I shared some of the same interests with them, I was not of them nor shared their level of zeal hence the Faux bit.

This name started on Megatokyo when i was in the 6th grade and, for some stupid reason, thought leet speak was cool and there were very few black people online.

At this point, the only reason I keep this name is because i haven't come up with a better one.

...so anyone have ideas for names that don't suck I could use?
It's somewhat radical but bear with me. How about: "The Brother?"

"Febel" was a nickname I garnered in a High school german class. My last name sounds very similar to the word sergeant, which led to the nickname "sarge" which led to a german version of the nickname "Feldwebel" meaning...sergeant (creative, I know) It's a mouthfull so I ended up shortening and combining it to just febel.

Dr.Fantastic Was a character in a comic that I made in 5th grade. Dr.Fantastic basically used doctor tools to destroy the villains. Me and my friends would get together after school, draw a bunch of Dr.Fantastic comic strips, and show them to classmates the next day. I have almost all the comics we drew in a box that we all look at for giggles.

Well, quite a while back I was thinking up names for a dragon character and came up with Zahlkarithax, which I kinda liked, so I decided to go with it as a username after shortening it to Zakarath, which isn't quite as awkward.

And that is the story of how The Escapist was created, maybe someday i will tell you how i came up with this name.

Supposedly when my sister and I were todlers, I laughed at something (oddly) and my sister said "What're you laughing at kidigus?"... She had a habit of making up words.

Being the Star Wars geek that I am, but also cognizant of the fact that names like Vader, Fett, Skywalker, etc...where all over the place, I decided to use a less obvious Star Wars reference for my username so I went with my favorite Star Destroyer the Executor (for those who don't know the Executor is Vader's huge Star Destroyer in Empire Strikes Back). Thinking that vital data should be included, I added my birth year. In this way Executor78 (or Executor1978 for my X-Box gamertag) was born.

My story starts more than a decade ago. I was playing a digimon game. I had to choose a faction. I chose the Blue Falcons. Fast forward about a year when I needed a screenname. Bluefalcon was taken, so I tried for bluflacon(it was taken so I added numbers). Fast Forward more years later when I needed a second one. I decided it should have a misspelling in it too. I went with greenphalcon. Fast Forward two more years when I started playing this awesome new game called World of Warcraft. I sent my screenname through various online translators. I got two names, then learned WoW didn't let you have a first and last name. Crudus is Latin for green (according to that translator Latin doesn't have a word for "phalcon" anyway, or falcon for that matter) and sounded pretty good. Fast forward ~5 years to now when I am typing this.
