Why do some users put their name or username at the end of every one of their posts?

I think my posts differs greatly enough from yours that I deserve recognisable mention.

I would just say that its recognition, some people want other people to definatly know that it was them that wrote that post. I dont do it myself but i think thats why they do it.

Yes, there is a automatic signature that you can make use of in your profile settings. I see nothing wrong with it, and may even use it in the future, once I can come up with a witty enough sign off name.

i suppose it's the same as putting your name after a letter, your name is sometimes at the top, too, with a return address but you put your name goes at the bottom anyway.

I can understand why they would do that if they don't have an avatar, but if they do, then I will never remember their username, because I will always look for the avatar. Its annoying to do both.
