Quite a simple question really. Has anybody ever caught any 'exotic' illness? Has anybody ever lost a body part to an accident? Anybody had scale itch (cookie for reference)? Or maybe the worst you have had is man flu.

Due to a healthy diet and regular exercise my immune system is top notch, so the worst I have ever had is seasonal flu, which feels awful at the time, but is not terrible on the scale of things. The worst I have known is a friend of mine got malaria, but shook it off within two weeks, to the amazement of his doctors.
I'm not sure what it was, since my father is medic and he doesn't remember the name of the illness, so I'm going to write it down here.

One day I was coughing. But really hard. Every time I coughed, I collapsed to the floor and I keep coughing. And it hurt my chest and throat. Then after a while I felt weak, VERY weak. We switched to vaccines instead of capsules, still no effect. Now, Imagine being like that for two months.

It may not be the worst thing ever, but it was kinda bad for me. And you know what? It had symptoms very similar in some cases of Flu H1N1, just I had it for 2 months before it propagated here in Mexico.

The worst accident I've ever had was only last month and i fell pretty lucky about it. I was driving in a snow storm, so I did not have that great of visibility making me drive at about 60 km/h. Passing a T-intersection I was hit on the drivers side by a fully loaded semi, and according to the report it was going at 130 km/h. I rolled six times and finally stopped when I hit a tree roof first in a farmers field.

I crawled out of the wreck and, this is where I am extremely lucky. I had no injury's, outside of a stiff neck for the next few days!

I had west nile a while back, I guess I wasn't so lucky and I had the sweats, the pukes, and paralysis for a week and a bit. Having to ask someone to hold a bucket closer to your head right before you hurl is not easy at all, I missed more than once...

I've also taken a large bolt to the face right above my eye, a little higher I would have been brain dead, a little lower I would have lost my eye.

I've thankfully never had anything terribly severe, at least nothing I would consider life threatening. I have two which I would consider my 'worst'. Hard to tell which is really the worst.

When I was young I caught the rotavirus(stomach flu more or less), I couldn't hold anything in my body. Not even water. Thanks to the symptoms I got dehydrated and had to be taken to the hospital. While the trip was short it was one that resulted in my displeasure with needles...

The other was also when I was a little kid, I had climbed a bookshelf in my room to grab an item. I climbed down and next thing I know I'm beneath the bookshelf screaming bloody murder. HEaring me my cat ran in and began trying to pull me out, he didn't succeed in doing anything other than scratching my face up badly. After my mom ran in and got me I was rushed to the hospital where I got stitches. I still have the scar in my eyebrow to this day.
