My military history teacher. He would get super mad everytime someone messed up. He would then take one of his knives in his room and stab the notebook of the student who failed to give the correct answer.

My english teacher in year 8, who was also my social education teacher.
One lesson we had to ask someone what their most valued possession was, i got distracted, (by one of my mates twatting about) and the teacher asked me what the guy who distracted me held as his most valued possession was, and obviously i didn't know...

Then he made me stand up in front of the class. Christ what he said was completely out of line.

He said, 'Oh theo, you're still the pathetic little kid you were a year ago aren't you? I bet you've learned nothing in the 2 years that you've been here have you? My god, how simple was this task and you couldn't even do that?'
'Yeah but sir, i was distracted by Ar-'
'Oh shut up,' (my classmates were pissing themselves with laughter now) 'you're always full of excuses aren't you? Stop trying to blame him for you not being able to do probably the easiest of all the tasks i've set for you.'
(obviously by now, i'd started frowning)
'Aww have i upset you? Everyone Theo's in yet ANOTHER bad mood, Lets all say awww for Theo!'

Entire class: AWWWWWWWWWWW!

'Sit down Theo.'

GOD, I HATE THAT GUY!

When I started secondary school, the place was staffed by legends. Some of the teachers had a bad rep, either for being pushovers or avatars of Satan, but long as you managed them okay, they could teach anything about anything. They all knew their stuff, and how to teach it well. Great, you might think.

Problem was, as I went through the school, steadily more of the staff left, retired or were fired (on orders of the local education authority - was never clear to the students why). And the replacements started poor and got steadily worse as time wore on. In the end they closed, renamed and reopened the place with entirely new staff. Halfway through my GCSEs. Fun times.

My worst teacher was this crazy old b"£%@ who joined right at the end. She claimed to have at least 3 degrees, one in IT, one in business, one in something else, all from prestigious universities. Either she was lieing or had alzheimers, 'cause no way should a multi degree holder in all these subjects know less about them than a cocky 17 year old (yeah, another instance of 'a teacher so bad one of the students had to do the teaching). At one point everyone in my year had to turn in a long essay project. I was the only one who passed - almost certainly because unlike everyone else, when she offered to 'help' I told her to p*ss off.

I had some English teacher a few years ago EVERYONE seemed to like, but she had some sort of irrational hatred for me or something. In one of my papers I used the word "guffaw" and, since this was 8th grade, she was reading papers aloud to class. When she got there she just flat out laughed, and pretend-misunderstood how it was pronounced like five times. I swear to god, for the next two years, I thought I had made the word up.

Oh, and I just remembered a sub in math we had the other day. Our teacher told us she'd be out and we'd get our MIUs back to fix since we all did terribly. So, we come into class, the bell rings, and someone asks the sub,"Can we get our MIUs now? Mrs. Math Teacher said that we could work on them today." The sub stares right at him and says,"WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME!?" This lady freaked me out, anything above a barely audible whisper was apparently shouting.

My 4th/5th grade teacher. she would always get made at us for small reasons and she enev had this drawn volcano on the white board and everytime we pissed her off she would fill in a section of it. If the entire thing was filled at the end of the day, the next day we would have a "silent day" this ment that we were not allowed to talk, not even allowed to ask questions.

Also later in the year we had made a giant paper rainforest and stapled it to a wall. On the last friday of the school year we were taking it down and apparently we were being too noisy. So she made us sit down and write a two page essay about why we deserved to got out and enjoy our last free choice of the year!! Se even let half the class go out without writing the essay and I had to stay in and write the damn thing. I was not even in the classroom when we were sent back to our seats, I was taking recyling to the big bin.

Being a teacher, I find this thread really repulsive.
Mmm, but, as it said in the title, no names, so taking the stories at face value, is it not perfectly acceptable to heap scorn upon such 'teachers'? After all, we don't know who these people are, the people posting the stories could be exaggerating, or could have misinterpreted events.

And really, have any of these stories contained people you'd consider -good- teachers? (Or people for that matter). It's not exactly calling all teachers bad, just the ones that do the sort of things detailed whether in this case they're true or not.

Hmm... I've had a lot of terrible teachers, but 3rd grade was probably the worst.

I was really great at math (pretty much scored in the 99th percentile in standardized tests throughout school until I stopped caring), and thought up a quite few basic principles of algebra without realizing that they already had been discovered, only to have my moronic teacher tell the rest of the class when I explained it to her that "I'm sure it makes sense in XXXX's little world."

Also, my high school auto shop teacher was a meth addict who was asleep at his desk 75% of the time, I never stayed longer than attendance and got an arbitrary B+.

The worst teacher I ever had was my gym teacher. He failed me because I "wasn't participating". It's kinda of hard to participate when you have a fucking toothpick stuck in your foot for two months and can't walk.

Kind of glad he didn't believe me though 'cause I gave him the toothpick and the chunk of skin that came off of my foot when the toothpick finally worked it's way out of me.

My old economics teacher. He wasn't a bad guy, he was just painful to listen to. And at about 8 am every morning, I couldn't really take his catchphrases, which included "Oh, and by the way, btw" and a mickey mouse like yell of "OH NO!"

He did his job well and taught us the material, but really? I felt like i needed alcohol to tolerate his class that early in the morning.

My old Art teacher used to carry a brick around with her, and would slam it off the desks to keep us quiet. She also one time got the entire classes work, and ripped every drawing in half saying that they were shit.

Well, I suppose the worst teacher I had was my old Religious Education teacher. He seemed fine until we found out he was a paedophile, and he was actually arrested during the school day.
