What the hell is the oughts?

Why wouldn't we call 2010 the tens? Will people somehow get confused and think we're talking about the 1910s? Isnt "nineties" always the last nineties to exist, therefore the 1990s and never confused with the 1890s? Aren't these naming conventions already figured out rendering this entire thread pointless?

The ought's are what they called 2000 to present. and we didn't have a previous name for the 1910s. We started naming them with "the roaring 20s" but a XX10s hasn't been giving a stylish name yet.
