Ok so for the past few weeks ive been hearing more and more about diabilo 3 but still dont understand why its so good, or why 1 and 2 were so good.

From the little i know it seems like a mmorpg but your constantly inside a dungeon. I played a nox demo years ago, is nox and diabilo similiar?

So if i play rift and enjoy the dungeons would i enjoy diabilo? there are these few franchises that existed for years but ive never gotten around to playing them, diabilo is one of these.

Check your spelling, man.

OT: Basically Diablo 1 and 2 were pretty good and fans have been waiting for like 8 years to play the 3rd one. Simple as that.

The grammar... KILL IT WITH FIRE!

Kidding. I've never played Diablo so I know nothing of the craze. Or the game in general. All I know is that it involves lots of clicking.

LOTS... OF CLICKING.

yeah i thought i got all my spelling mistakes when i re read it. im king my keyboard is breaking cause more and more letters are missing from words. like ill type "and" and only the A will show up. i think i do need a new keyboard. the keys around wasd seem to mess up the most and the space bar.

ok why were 1 and 2 good. what set it apart from the other games at the time.

It had a very dark atmosphere and a lot of depth in the spell system and whatnot.

That, and like I said, fans have been waiting for over a decade to play a new Diablo.

well for starters it's Diablo, not Diabilo

but Diablo sort of set the mold when it came to the dungeon crawl genre. Games prior to it were clunky and had weird interface. It was extremely accessible and replayable.

Diablo 2 took that to the next level and became the bench mark for Dungeon Crawls when it was released, and still has people paying perfectly good money for items 8 years after it was released.

So it's hotly anticipated. If you weren't there for Diablo 1 or 2, then of course the hype is going to be over your head.

I have no idea why they were so good for everyone else. I can tell you why I love both of them though:

Diablo I loved the setting and the story. You come back to your hometown and find it's in ruins. You're not really sure what the hell happened, but people are telling some crazy stories. Traveling deeper and deeper into the underground world was always an adventure because the maps--and the quests--were different EVERY TIME. Going after the Butcher was heart racing because he can mop the floor with your character if you're not careful. There was also the fact that I could only play it at my uncle's, so I rarely got to explore the later levels. Once I did get down into the mines and Hell, it was an entirely new game to me. Through in the fact that this game has books in it dedicated to describing tiny little details in the game--or just go into the menu and look up the Sin War--and you had a game with a story depth that was unrivaled (to me) at the time.

Diablo II built on that story. My favorite part was finding out what happened to everyone from the first game. Returning to the original towns was...well, let's call it an experience. I didn't like the second game as much as the first because the quests aren't randomized, but the lore and characters are still there. Plus, each game has never had the finale "The End. You've won. The world is saved" feeling to it. If anything, the endings always seem to feel like, even though you didn't mean to, you've made things worse than they were before. THAT sets up a desire to find out what happens next.

Never played it but they have a rabid fan base, also the third one will have to be connected to the internet to work.

I didn't play Diablo 1 much, and the majority of my experience with it was watching someone else play. Basically, Diablo 1 is a dungeon-crawler that kind of has a little bit of story, but the majority of the game focuses on the actual crawling. Diablo 2 continued in this regard, but decided that it needed to expand a bit on the simplistic "some dumb blokes built a town on top of Hell, for some reason won't leave, and need you to kill the Devil" story from Diablo 1.

Diablo 2, however, is expanded in most other regards, as well. Whereas character class didn't make a huge difference difference in Diablo 1 (a warrior could cast all the same spells as a sorceror, for example) Diablo 2 included five different classes (seven with the two from the expansion) that each have very different skill trees; each character is completely customizable. I still play Diablo 2 to this day, although certainly not as often as I used to. Even after over 10 years of playing, there are still some of the rarest items and most powerful runewords that remain firmly out of my reach.
