I'm just referring to The Escapist and Cracked, but I get the feeling other sites have exploded with a load of it too.

Thing is, while I like Breaking Bad, I dislike having to wait a week for the end-of-episode-cliffhanger to be resolved, so I wait for the season to finish, then binge at my own pace later.

I'm up to S5 E11 now, but spoilers are okay.

Also, why is Jessey so pissed off about Walt nicking The Ricigarette?
Is there someone in Alaska he wanted to poison?

And here's hoping we see more of Tod, he seems like Gus, except eager to please and adorable.

I'm really liking S5 part 2 so far, it seems to have a nice touch of humour, S1 style.

Because the series-finale just aired?

Eh, what do I know. I stopped watched after season two. Too many characters annoyed me with their idiot-balls. Gee, Walt, maybe if you weren't such a stubborn asshole and just accepted the new, highly payed, highly respectable, cancer-treatment-included job you were freely given in the first half of season one then none of this bullshit would have happened.

How wrong could you be. I dont want to give much away but tod is far from adorable by the end of the show. He makes hannibal lector look like a care bear

Jesse's pissed off because he stole it to make Jesse think Brock might have been poisoned with ricin and it suggests Walt poisoned Brock, which wr know he did.
I mean the second time he stole the ricin (while they were hugging I guess)

He isn't THAT bad, but yea. Todd is kinda... what is the saying? A few screws loose? Something like that.
Awsums :)

Walt's Pride is what stops him from accepting what amounts to Charity from the two people who bought him out during his early career after he was the "brains" behind most of their initial patents. Walt needed money at that stage of his life and accepted the buyout(The company was worth a few Billion, with a B in a later seasons episode). Ultimately how they wrap it all up it ends rather well. Could be better, could be worse. I'd like an Epilogue-type episode, but it's Walter Hartwell White's story so doesn't matter.

Todd is...Odd. I figured his arc would end along the lines of how it did. The whole theme of the finale was
redemption

I'm glad it went down the way it did.

As for why he got pissed and
Ran away from the Vacuum man when he realized he didn't have the Ricin Cig was, I believe, due to him wanting to go after Walt for everything that's happened to Jesse since they met. The Ricin Cig being lifted from him by Saul making him realize just how much Walt has manipulated him throughout Breaking Bad

Oh, you poor soul. Don't expect that to last.

That's kind of the point of the show. Hubris is one of Walt's biggest traits, actually.

Which garners zero sympathy for me. He's living in a big house with a pool, yet the show paints it how sad, sad, saaad it is that he has to work two jobs.
Gee, Walt, why don't you MOVE? Get a smaller apartment so you can afford to pay your rent and give your son proper help at the same time. But no, Walt's pride. Which makes me go 'You know what, Walt, I hope you get what is coming to you', and then I turn off the TV.
But I'm glad you people liked it.

That's...not what happened. Jesse hasn't had the ricin for a long time. He thinks it's been destroyed, when in fact Walt has it hidden behind an outlet in his house. Jesse got pissed off because he realized that Huel took his weed (remember that whole bit with Saul telling him not to smoke in his office?). This led him to realize that Huel also took the ricin back at the end of season 4. He's probably been trying to figure out if Walt could've poisoned Brock (which he did) ever since he realized what a psycho Walt is. Before, he didn't think it was possible because he didn't know how Walt could've gotten the ricin. But then he realized that Huel was good at lifting things off people without them knowing(like his weed), which was the final piece of the puzzle. So he freaked out because he realized that Walt did in fact poison a child to manipulate him (Jesse).

I think it's actually a bit of stretch, to be honest.

You...probably should've watched it a bit more closely. Walt is definitely NOT supposed to be a sympathetic character.

Which is the reason I DIDN't watch it. No sympathetic characters. No character I can feel 'Man, I wish these people would come out on top'. Every character is getting pretty much what they deserve (I only watched two seasons, so can't speak for characters after that).

Basically the show's done 2 things your rarely see on TV

1. It's managed to be both hugely popular AND critically praised, as evidenced by it's pile of Emmys.

2. It ended pretty much at it's peak.

You know the first 2 seasons take place pretty much in the midst of the housing crisis right?

If you've seen two seasons surely you'd see Jesse, the guy who...
just had his girlfriend -who he really did love- OD on heroin and die
to be a character worth sympathizing for. Doing drugs, and being easily manipulated for that matter, isn't exactly on par with the things Walter has done. Just my two cents.

I think my favourite bit was when Skyler took up smoking. That's a heavily pregnant woman taking up smoking in order to gain revenge on her husband who is terminally ill with lung cancer. If the writers wanted me to hate her that badly they should've just made her kick a puppy.

But nah, it's a decent series. I mean it's well acted and beautifully shot, and that's probably what kept me hooked until the end. I just think the writing isn't all that spectacular. The characters aren't deep; nobody is a grey area, they just fluctuate between black and white. There's a lot of idiot-ball being passed around. Most of the plots seem to follow this formula where they build a character up to be one thing for a few episodes, then make them do the opposite as some sort of twist. Like Walt's occasional moments of heroics only work because they've built him up to be a complete twit in the filler episodes.

I thought the first couple of series were actually the best. You've got those Chuckle Brothers sketches between Walt and Jesse, Hank's character is still in his bumbling bigoted state (with a little hint of Pesci in Home Alone?), and you've got probably the best antagonist in the form of Tuco (who's got both the psychopathic edge and his own fair share of twittery). So it's like the story of a bunch of complete dimwits getting wrapped up in things far beyond their control.

Third series onward it got a bit silly. Those two brothers... I can just hear the conversation the writers must have had: "hey, how can we make these two look really mean and cool?", "I know! Lets have them set fire to a truck and then walk away in slow motion without ever turning to look at the resulting explosion. That'll make them look like total badasses!". Then you've got Mike, who appears to have the luck and combat skills of a Roger Moore era James Bond. Gus is like made out to be some kind of robot. They're all basically comic book villains.
