Also, if you've gone that far with the bolded part, you might as well say Ass. you're not going to hurt anyhitng now.

OT: Probably cause its their comfort zone. Some people are jerks yes, they'll play one game, get obscenely good and then wait for people less good to challenge them so tehy can feel better about themselves, but why do you bother playing iwth them? Just get a bunch of like minded people who agree with you and just play games that you like. organize something like a game of the day thing so you can can introduce new games.

ANd be proud about being able to do that thing on GH. Obviously people like that you can and think its worth while watching, just do it and and let yourself go, or pick an equally hard song and play that.

Agreed.

OT: Smash Bros. is beast. Marvel Vs Capcom has nothing on Smash Bros.

Because there is a rare breed of human that loves Nintendo who will rabidly defend them whenever they are criticized and will their games and only their games. This breed is supposedly dying out, but there are still a few lurking out there, just waiting to strike.

So in short, they're massive fanboys who are scared of anything that is different.

Well, as it turns out: Some people don't agree with you all of the time. I know, it's crazy. But that's how it works. Not saying those guys aren't idiots, but they are entitled to their stupid boycott. Sounds like they aren't the kind of people you want to hang out with anyway, so I don't see the problem.

Because Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was terrible.

.... Just kidding, I've never played it. The reason why is because change makes them confused and enraged. And them being nerds don't know how to react like huge Jocks (Run around beating up nerds and have awesome 70s sex, or so I'm told).

This is actually pretty common now. My high school had a Guitar Hero club, a SSBB club, and an Anime club.

as for my main games if you want to bash them and see if you can draw any response

Armored Core
Marvel vs Capcom
Painkiller
Team Fortress 2
Castle Crashers
No More Heroes
Contra
StarCraft 2/WarCraft 3

those are my most played games...

EDIT: Oh and Castlevania; don't play it much but do love it. (mainly ReBirth, Castlevania 2, SotN)
Nice list!
The only one I haven't/don't play is Team Fortress 2. I'm pretty damn good at Armored Core Vs (well, up until Nexus on the PS2), though it's been years since I gave the series real attention.
Still looking for a copy of either original MvC title, though my friend was able to pick up a copy of MvC2 for the PS2 back in the day.

Don't take them too seriously, they're being jerks and that's it. I know exactly how you're feeling, well, except for the part of having school videogame tournament (I so envy you).

My cousins are like this, they only play like 3 or 4 different games, with the same settings, using the same levels and one of them has to be Super Smash Bros. Melee. When they play Melee, they choose the same damn characters and they always, ALWAYS choose Corneria... with no weapons... It always boggled my mind, why an overly boring and repetitive level was so compelling?

I invited one of them to my home as I proudly have a Wii and SSBB (I don't play it all day mind you, but enough to have unlocked every single character and every single stage).

To my lack of surprise, he chose Samus... he even didn't wanted to try with any of the other new characters and there are LOTS of them in Brawl. Ok, then, to the level selection screen, the very moment he saw "Melee Stages", he went there and immediatly chose Corneria... and that's not even the worst part, he was playing with a Cube controller and, as many already knows, the Cube controller in Brawl plays exactly the same as in Melee, BUT, when we started playing, I "forgot" to disable the items and he asked me how to throw a weapon he didn't wanted... I was like... SERIOUSLY!??...

There are lots, lots and LOTS of new stuff in Brawl that's way much better than in Melee, so, why chosing the same characters and the same fucking levels always boggled my mind and it always drove me nuts.

So let me get this straight.

1)You suggest that they play a different game for the tournament.
2)They say they don't want to.
3)You have said tournament anyway.
4)They don't show up.
5)You're surprised for some reason?

Duely noted, playing WoW and knowing meme's makes one a no lifer.

It's about preference. People who don't like what you don't like are not super geeky retards who are clearly brain washed by society blah blah

Some people like some things more then others, and maby they have tryed those other games, and didn't like it.

And if you have everything on SSBB's checklist (is that like achievments?), but it bored you, then why did you play it for more then 5 minutes?

As for GH, if you can get 5 star Through the Fire and Flames, you probably played the shit out of the game, which means you liked it, so don't be surprised others like it.

Unless you play games you hate to complain about them and how people who play them are no lifers.

TL:DR people who do not think like you are not broken, stupid, or no lifers. There different. Complaining about it is pointless.
I never said they were stupid for not agreeing, I said it was stupid for them to dismiss something they never tried.

and actually I don't like GH3 and I only played it about a month; being that I can play full out videogame songs on piano while blindfolded; makes following a 5 button pattern on a screen quite simple- plus I liked that song so I could already play the thing for real (on piano though)

and brawl... well- I played it because I wanted to beat down mario as sonic; unlocked half the stuff there; then I just became achievement obsessed... plus I have world record times in target test... then did some modding for it; mainly textures and music

and I think anyone with enough disposible income to throw away roughly $200 USD a year for a single grinding game has no life... or is freaking set for life; as for memes; knowing and over-using are two TOTALLY different things

if you even say the word "IT'S" around them they'll all yell 9000; everytime; all the time...

oh and they will also literally beat you up if you even mutter "the game"

and again, it's not their taste in games that bugs me; it's how extreme they were about a differet idea

"hey lets try MvC3 it's really good an-"
"NO THAT GAME SUCKS ITS BULL BECAUSE ITS NOT BRAWL WERE GOING TO BOYCOTT THIS DURR HURR HURRR"

...yeah that's kinda what happened which left me to say "you're acting like babies..."

which made them reply "ur mom acts like babies!"
Ouch. I was going to say that it's a bit of a dick move to hate them because they're nerds, but if they're actually like this.... Ouch. Yeah, it certainly seems that you've got a very annoying group of people there. Ugh. Oh well, it wouldn't matter if they were just nerds or whatever... But seriously, they seem like dicks. If you want to REALLY piss them off, print this out. http://thescarredsoul.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2b4sih It's about the game. You'll like it.

Well, I'm sure you'll write me off as a troll for saying this, but while the Brawl kids sound like elitist nintendo fanboys, you also sound like an elitist fanboy jerk.

As for why people like Brawl, I think Brawl in the Family sums it up well with "I can make Mario fight Sonic"

fuckin americans, having anime and game competitions when my school forces us to do a sport.
Our schools don't even force us to do that much. Your choice are (a) Four years of marching band (complete with compulsory attendance to every home football game, and a week of training that you have to pay for out of pocket and started before the school year began) or (b) One semester of phys ed.

Clubs were optional and rather admitted by the faculty to be something of a joke they indulged in to look progressive.

It seems that said "nintenerds" are not only nerds, but also complete and total morons.

Oh, and they've grown too attached to SSBB, can't let it go when everyone else wants to.
I've met those kinds of people. Not really fun to hang out with. Does anyone like being in the same room with those nerds?

well, i can sorta relate to it, each Saturday theres a Magic tournament at my local nerd shop (they sell nerdy things, not nerds) i can just imagine that someone would come in and suggest that from now on we started playing pokemon instead.

we do all (except from this one guy who basically lives for magic, funny story, one time he had to rent out his place and move in with his brother for 6 months because he bought 9 P9 cards signed by Garfield and the artist) play other games, i myself rarely play except from those saturdays, but its a tradition and many of us are deeply invested in this game.

i wouldn't be to hard on them, let them have their fun with the game they love, as you said you still have other people to play with.
We can only have 1 tournoment (in eddition to GH3) and it's going to be brawl for the 2ed or 3rd year in a row

I'm not saying to change it forever, just this one year

I mean they're all Jr.s if they want brawl that badly they should wait for their senior year and vote on it; all the seniors this year (that cared... so excluding all jocks) was tied between MvC3 and MK9 (MvC3 won but it was still like 60/40) and ALL the Jr.s/sophos wanted SSBB

...well 1 senior wanted SSBB but JUST one
i dont get why you can only play one game, is there only one TV?, i mean i have been to plenty of LAN parties and its very rare that we can all agree on just one game, so there is usually 3-4 games being played at once, and if you wanted to play one of the other games you just joined that server, i realize its not the same with consoles but you could just bring a monitor or a tv over and play, we usually bring at least one extra tv along with our pc to a lan.

at one of the more epic lans i have attended we had 6 pc games going, a tekken tournament, magic duels and a DnD session at the same time, it was so nerdy we all gained 50kg and got our virginity back after 1 hour.
It's a giant projector screen

and yes there's only one

because the other is in the computer lab being used for GH3... and all the computers are LAN playing Unreal 3

Mario Minor gets them in an uproar (yeah we have custom songs *cough*)
