Its hard to specify what I would consider fighting for. I would say my own life, first and foremost, and probably some of my friends and families life, and probably some of my property, and if im entrusted with the property of family or friends, such as borrowing a movie, I hold it in higher regard than my own property, and it takes precidence over that.

Edit: I never try to fight if it can be helped. Actually, I dont think I've ever been in one. I would hold it soley as a last resort, when all other options have failed.

No problem is worth a life which does not belong to you.
That statement can be requalified with mutual consent, such as in the context of human experimentation [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4tuvOer_GI].

I'm more of a pacifist and don't get into fights. I'm assuming by fight you mean physical violence (or psychological violence) rather than to fight as in to struggle to achieve a goal. And to answer why I don't fight, a large part of it is that the kinds of things that I would fight for (as in struggle to attain) aren't achieved through fighting (with violence). If my objective or goal is a world where people are more connected and loving to each other, how is fighting going to help attain that in any concievable way? Even when there are people fighting and causing violence, if I try to stop them with using more violence is that going to work? It will more likely make them want to be even more violent in return. It may physically remove them from the conflict, but is it going to do anything at all to address the issue that causes their desire for violence? I believe that violence usually comes out of the pain or fear of emotional and psychological needs not being met. So if we address the root issues such as the need to be heard and respected, and listen and acknowledge, or look at what they are afraid of losing and address that, etc. it might aleviate the need or desire for violence. Instead of resisting and opposing the aggression, dissipate it. Who has ever been swayed toward compassion and serenity by getting the shit beat out of them? More often it fosters further anger and resentment and hatred. So violence is almost always counter productive to anything I would want to achieve.

Life and fundamental freedom are the two where giving (my own) and taking lives come into play.

Rights and peace are the next level, where giving is acceptable but taking is not.

Honor and reputation are the last level, where bare-knuckle brusing is about the maximum. (I can't shatter anything important as I'm not strong enough).

Damn, Ninja'd. This except for harm, and life. Reason being that wants to give me harm, and no one wants my life. So I'm scott free on that=).

I'd fight for my life and the well being of someone I care about deeply even if they could fight for them selves. I'd fight for my rights to be free, my well being and many many other things.

- Anything related to the survival of myself or those I care about (ie, food, water, shelter, medicine, protection, etc.).
- Australia, in the event that the actual country came under attack.

That is kind of a rhetorical question. I am sure most people here would fight for love, and if not their life, if the situation made it so. I really cannot see any other logical or serious answer other than wealth perhaps.

There are a lot of things I would like to THINK I would fight for.
Love, life, justice, freedom.

But in reality, I don't really know if I'd ever step up if the situation actually called for it. My own life, maybe. A loved one's life? Probably. Freedom? Definitly wouldn't be surprised. Justice? Not sure.

Fight? Fights are rare from me. I'll fight to protect myself or someone I consider to be a friend or family.

Kill? If it'll produce an effect that I find suitable, I'll kill without hesitation.
