It's just really stupid. I wouldn't have such a problem with it if there were people my age who watch it. It's a children's movie, and a bad one at that.

First there's a "What's wrong with Star Wars: Episode 1", and now there's a "What's wrong with High School Musical?". What's next, "What's wrong with Transformers 2?", closely followed by "What's wrong with the super mario bros. movie?", no doubt.

The music is bad, the kids can't really act, but most importantly, it's not entertaining at all for me.

Was I the only one that saw that video just for the fact Megan Fox was in it >.<? Also I didn't hate the movie , I watched Transformers when I was little and enjoyed the graphical part of the movie .

OT: HSM. The first one I disliked. The plot is all over the place. You have to grab it with your fists and end up jumping while HSM laughs in your failed attempts. HSM2 was better. HSM3 (had to watch it on 2009's last day sadly. I was in a corner playing End War on my NDS for like 2 hours) was absolute bull crap.

So I beg to differ. I wouldn't kill you for disliking it but meh, heretics are heretics. After all, this is the internet.

There's nothing wrong with it per se, it's just that the degree to which it is popular is a bit questionable considering the lack of quality. If it had been a total flop and had been seen by three people, nobody would be taking the time to hate it.

NOTE: I guess I should qualify "lie-telling". Basically, high school is not as it is depicted in the movie. There is no way the students nor the administration of the American high school system are so perky all the time.

My nieces watch the ever loving shit out of those movies. In fact when babysitting them on saturday they watched three of them in a row. Which was easy for me I just played DOW:II on a laptop (in the same room) but still...
I guess it's just, well, dumb. I just don't like the hammy characters and the songs just simply aren't my cup of tea.

Because I get, on the one hand, a very boring, predictable story about Boy meets Girl; and on the other, I get a bunch of VERY catchy songs which I don't particularly care for but they will stay in my head for months.

Also, that Zack fellow (main character actor) is a prick. He reminds me of Sheia LeBouf

Whats wrong with HSM? Cheese. So much cheese. Seriously its so cheesy you could buy out half of France with it. Obviously lots of people love it, so its really just a matter of taste.

Oh and seeing we are talking about Twilight as well, the movies really are not that bad, not good but not bad. There is quite a bit in them for non-twilight fans to enjoy. The real problem is with he books, but unless you are a literary person you wont have a problem. It was hilarious watching my mum reading them, she wanted to rip it to pieces it was so badly written apparently.

I saw it on TV a few years ago, and it was just laughably bad, even for something aimed at little kids. So very, very cliched; it was a bit like someone extended an 80's teen show to over an hour and randomly threw so songs in.

Highschool is just a drama filled doughnut covered in crap and dissapointment. Any indulgence in the thought that highschool is about fun, singing and being nice to everyone should be rewarded with a cock slap to the face.
