I recently got a new computer, which has 6 gigs of RAM and a dual core processor, which I was under the impression meant that it would be fast and I'd be able to play good games without lag or other problems. However, when I bought Unreal Tournament 3 I found that I had to put the graphics on the lowest setting so that the game would run at normal speed. Then today i tried the Arkham Asylum demo and found that it too ran very slowly, and I couldn't set the graphics to be any lower. Both games run on the Unreal Engine I noticed, might this have something to do with it? Combat Arms works very well on this computer, no lag, extremely fast loading and a high frame rate.

I think you should post the full specifications listed, just so we know what's going on properly

Combat arms isn't really a good indicator, almost everything is done by texture in that. Also, you didn't say a thing about your video card, It might be that.

Don't ask me, I'm not a tech guy.

The most important factor for you gaming performance will be your video card. So, what've you got?

Both games are not too demanding, regardless of what some people across the internet would have you beleive. I run it on a lower end card (8500GT OC). You really do need to state what your GPU is. Your OS would be helpful as well. Is it 32 or 64 bit? Those 6GB aren't going to help you much if it's a 32 bit system.

I agree with both of these guys, but specifically the first one

IS THE TRIPLE PRONGED THINGY PUT INTO THE TRIPLE HOLED THINGY IN THE WALL?

but in all srsness, yeah probably the video card, when I got my computer upgraded a while back i couldn't play counter strike COUNTER STRIKE on it, one of the least demanding games out there and I couldn't play it, popped in a video card, works fine, like host connection in gears :D

Hmm maybe a new videocard to agree with what everone else is saying, but maybe see if there some weird programs on there. That could slow it down a bit
