What's wrong with Sonic Unleashed?

Sonic and 3D doesn't melt together well. I haven't played Unleashed, but I saw how running around collecting rings stop being fun in 3D when I got Sonic and The Secret Rings. For one, he runs fast, with can only be fun for those with clair-voyance, cause if you bump into something, you'll have to speed up again and bump into something again, which is higly boring. The levels are repetitive, and the fun has gone out. Sonic and 3D doesn't work together, like me and MMO's. Every try just leads to the same conclusion and end in boredom.

I just didn't care for it. It seemed like a pretty boring game to me. There was about roughly 1/3 of Actual Greatness. (All the Levels NOT involving the Werehog)

The thing about Sonic Unleashed is that it's an example of how desperate Sonic Team is to keep this franchise afloat. They strayed from their original style of game play and began experimenting with other styles of play. When that didn't work, they tried combining the old with the new. And that brings us to Sonic Unleashed. After many failed attempts at bringing the franchise back to life through 4Kids and through sub-par games they've failed to realize that the Sonic Games were good back around the time of Sonic 2.
(I really have no place to say whether or not the most recent games were good because the last Sonic game I played was that one where they introduced Shadow on the Gamecube, which wasn't great but since I was like 14 I enjoyed it.) Anyway...

To answer your question, yes, people would be bashing Mario if Nintendo completely abandoned the original formula for his games. It really doesn't make sense to switch their scenarios, because if Mario and Sonic were switched, Mario probably wouldn't have the fan base it does.

Also, to answer your other question, both of those are right. Sonic Unleashed has many flaws that only serve to frustrate the game play. And Yahtzee does act like a dick for the sake of being a dick. After all, he gets paid to do it. I'd review and trash talk games all day if I could get paid to do it. Just remember, Yahtzee's word isn't law, it's merely information that you can choose to acknowledge or ignore. He's also the most entertaining game critic I've seen.

Well first it wasn't Yahtzee who was bing the dick to me and you prove a point how there are many flaws thats a good thing your not just bitching about the voice acting.

Well then you sir must hate racing games also. Also The point of Sonic is to stop sometimes like when you kill badniks in Sonic 1 it was to get passed without your speed at times. And Secret Rings was good but that's not how sonic games are why don't you play Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube and then come back with a smarter reply.

Hate to double post but the matter is Yahtzee is not the most reliable source of information. If he says a game is OK then you're missing out on something fun.

Lol is anything really a reliable source on an OPINION about how good a game is? All I am saying is I thought it was not fun. I am saying that I have around the same OPINION as Yahtzee when it comes to Sonic Unleshed.

Get the trend here? if something is fun or not is an OPINION.

Actually in the first place my best friend bought it telling me it was fun. I generally agree with him but I just told him I thought it sucked. See what i'm trying to say. Which is why they there is such a thing as thoughts. you know thoes things flowing through your head telling you when somthing is bad or good. Yeah thoes "Thoughts" dicided Sonic Unleashed was not stimulating enough to be fun.

2. Denied that the franchise was dead and kept on pushing

People are pissed at the Sega for what they have done to this once cherished series by making it increasingly worse with each outing.

I don't belong in this conversation, but I'll say this, the real fun was the 2D Sonic. you know, the games that people fell for. The fanbase didn't come when 3D was implemented. Now they're just trying to please the fans with 3D cause 2D is "out of date" and "boring". It'd be good if they just kept on doing what they did good and stop this attempt of being hi-tech. Plus, Sonic with real american voice? Psychotic madness. It sounds so embarassing, like watching your favorite anime being dumbed down to bad voice actors.

Whether this is good or bad is up to you, but neither you or me or anyone else really needs to explain an opinion. When it comes to opinions, you can't win, cause there are no cold, hard facts, only subjective opinions leading in to fights between people. If you really wonder why people think it's bad, read what most here said and don't call them out for it. It's their subjective opinion, something unable of contradiction.

It's fashionable to hate Sonic.

Sonic Unleashed is a fine game. Too many of those nighttime levels, but the daytime levels were amazing. I know people who hate on the Sonic Rush games simply because they're Sonic games, even though the Sonic Rush games are arguably top-tier no matter what game series we're talking about.

EDIT: If only those nighttime levels were shorter.
