I'm fully aware that it was his fault and not just the drugs. But drugs fundamentally effect how a person thinks and feels. It alters their personality and behavior to a point where they aren't the same human being anymore. Many become little more than layabouts wasting their lives on a temporary high.

My niece got into meth and was wasting away. She didn't call, he boyfriend who also did meth abused her and raped her, frequently. She plucked out her /eyebrows/ for reasons I can't begin to fathom... It took prison time to get her away from it.

Now I know not every pot head is going to go out and mug an old lady or anything but they are still fools for wasting their time on it. Drugs make people apathetic, lazy, forgetful. I had a friend who constantly smoked pot and if I didn't remind him of something he'd forget about it entirely. Not to mention he always smelled horrible because of the smell of weed clinging to every bit of clothing he owned.

The only thing I smell is a troll.

Well, I've recently taken up painting citadel miniatures again. Plastic crack is cheaper than real heroin and at the end of the day you have something solid left in your posession. It's not 100% effective but then nothing ever is.
